When the day’s sweat
Is swilled away by
Weeping gold sage
Spilling reasons
To stay
But instead
Sweet stone remnants
Crack and concave
Filling impermeable
Graves
Gone cold

Tell me,
What is left to hold?
The big man upstairs
Once and for all
Disabused me of the notion
That he was in fact
God himself

And just my landlord
Living on the top floor
Yelling at me
Through the wall
That my rent is overdue
BLT's new challenge- to write a poem using the Merriam- Webster word of the day, disabuse.
The eyeshadows
Of her favorite color palette
Were every bit as neoteric
As they were triturated
--broken to pieces
Inside a mailer
Without bubble wrap
Based on a true story.

These walls are too close together
their shoulders are too broad

The ceiling is too low
for their high egos

I am a big girl
in a small room

where no one moves
sometimes its hard to make room for yourself

Picture this
You, me, and a kiss
A meeting of the lips
Feelings such as this
Who knew they could exist?
When we met
I knew I found my bliss

Write me in as I would of you
And stumbling onward
We walk

Converse with me as the trees speak to trees
And our whispers will grow in full
As we talk
Sprained Ankle is pretty underrated

Do you ever find yourself
(when beneath canvasing trees)
Standing alone in the singular comforting heat
Of the of the only illuminant rays to find
Their way through the clouds of leafy green?

Do you? I did
And it felt so immaculate to be
Warm and alone in the wooded wilds
Where I was free
