Adversity is a powerful teacher
You’ll never grow in comfort
Challenge will stretch you beyond where you ever thought you could go.
he likes peanut butter,
good movies,
deep conversations,
and long walks in the dark.
he will be gentle with the parts of you that hurt,
and he'll need you to be gentle with him too.
he'll bring your favourite snacks
and learn how you like your coffee.
he'll make you feel safe,
and he'll need you to make him feel heard.
he'll make you laugh,
and you'll fall in love with his green eyes.
i had to let him go
but promise me
that you won't

I guess consider this a part two to the first poem I ever wrote on here, which was about seven. I've moved on from seven to three since then.

And though we're far apart,
My heart belongs to you.
It shocks you.
It surprises you.
It amazes you.
Constantly abused and misused.

It heals you.
It warms you.
It supports you.
Sometimes, even gives you room.

It's within us.
Safely protected.
Every now and then seeks attention.

But on this God's created earth.
There is nothing better than Love.

I say:
Do you want me to pretend you do not exist?

She says:
Do as you wish.

I perceive:
All I was once you moved onto the next,
A waste of breath.

What a mutual perception process,

You keep on running and now I have nothing but my beliefs.

And what do you have?
Your cup is empty

It would be full but...
You poke holes in all the words I speak
The art of assuming the worst

It's not you, it's me,
I need a break, to be free,
Kindly leave me be.
A Haiku to Covid. Kindly get the **** out of our lives.
