Is there something wrong with being black? Different
                 skin color tone war,
is that what our heroes fought for?
Why is it necessary for white men to form similes about our color? Is this freedom or what?
I feel like being black is a sin.
What's really funny is racism is found in the black community only because it has turned on itself “I'm light skinned I'm better than” “dark skinned is ugly”
is this what we call love? Ubuntu? if so then I want none it.
It's amlaot disgusting how we can't show love to each other but expect love from another kind.

Petal pie
His name purred on her lips;
She loved the way it
Rolled around on her tongue,
Loosened her vocal chords

Every time she said
his name aloud,
It felt as though she were
Becoming more and more
Well versed in him;
His character,
His very being

How can I get mad over the fact that no one stays,

When all I do is beg to be left alone?

Thought he would rise to the occasion
And slay all of her dragons.
Take her away to some fairytale land
  In a stone-made castle
    Built with his own hands.

And there they would stay
To the end of their days....

   But there's one thing
      Shell never understand....

There's no prince charming
  In her helpless little world.
No one's coming
  To rescue this poor girl.

She's all on her own
  Heiress to her own throne
A princess could be a queen
That's not afraid to stand on her own.

One day she'll realize
There's more to life than this.
He can't wake her up
  With his magic kiss.

Life's not limited
  To some storybook bliss.
So stop waiting around
For a (k)nights empty promise.
I originally wrote this for my mum. But honestly, it's for any woman out there who doesn't yet believe that she's strong enough to slay her own dragons.

i washed a lot of dishes at work today
my hands are raw and red
and my fingers have a lot of small cuts

but i’m happy
because better to have
red raw hands
than red raw eyes
and better my fingers cut
than my wrists slit
long but rewarding day of work
If you're slowly drowning
In a darkness all your own
just whistle and I'll find you
take your hand and lead you home.

If your heart it flounders
slowly tearing at the seams
know that I still hear it beating
in my melancholy dreams.

If your spirit lingers
at the edge of loving light
know that I will stay there with you
know that I will stand and fight.

We will roar at our oppressors
We will wrestle with the dark
so much light can be created
by a single, tiny spark.

Then from the depths we will emerge
in stronger, wiser form
to stand shoulder to shoulder
and face the coming dawn.

For love will always bind us
it holds us sure and true
and there is nothing stronger
than the love I feel for you.
If I got lost as a kid I was told to whistle so that I'd be found, any tune would do. I realise now that the whistling in itself was more of a comfort to me while lost than it ever was a means of finding me....I was a curious child, I got lost a lot..... some things never change.
