sir humbug
the job of the artist
is to be
luminous and dangerous

luminous to others
by being
dangerous to themselves

when the words are ripped from the chest,
atmosphere disbursed by the body’s projectile messes,
starburst fireworks,
luminous and dangerous,
luminating the shared night,
laminating your truths,
in poems disguised

and so the job,
our work,
begins

It is what?
What it is.
He is what?
What he is.
She is what?
What she is.
They are what?
What they are.
You are what?
What you are.
We are what?
What we are.
I am what?
What I am.
What am I?
What I am.
Believe or not, everything what we all are; it's really what we are.

My heart

I go everywhere with my heart
Watchful not to be controlled by people's influences
I allow myself to view from their lenses
And analyze properly with my senses

My heart is a torch that
beams as I walk through the path of each day
Revealing the green snakes sneaking under the green grass
Shining on the gem within the dirt

Provides me with courage and strength
The drive to go the extra mile
The reason my face wears a smile
And above all, provides the check to remain ME to myself!

Right now
In this moment
I am simply
Me

My anxiety has no hold on me
My depression is at rest

Self doubt and loathing have hidden themselves to give way to calm.

I am at peace.
I am me.
I am free.

the frost made a pretty frosting glaze over the stiff grass
the wind nipped at my warm face and gathered at where my nose met the breeze
my nostrils inhaled the icy air particles
its winter now
it was 1 degrees Celsius in Madrid this morning

I wrapped it up in foil,
I didn't want it to ever spoil,
I stuck it in the freezer,
Heard freezing prolongs shelf life,
I wrapped it up in foil,
But freezerburn has set in,
It's destroying all the good that was left deep within,
I wrapped it up in foil,
But her heart was a machine never oiled,
I wrapped it up in foil,
But with your touch she was quick to spoil.

she shined so bright
that he was surprised
he couldn’t taste the stars
dancing on her skin.
surprised he couldn’t smell
the wood burning
and hear the fire crackling.
but most of all
he was surprised
she didn’t know
that she was more spectacular
than the skies on the fourth of july.

to be alone
but it’s harder
to feel alone
next to the person

that even a thousand suns
couldn’t compare.

i am already blinded
by the pure possibility

Some people
bask in the sunshine,
soak up the rays
within their skin
and feel the warmth
swimming through their veins.
Others find happiness
in the rain.
Water droplets falling around them,
hand outstretched
into the storm,
feeling the rain hitting bare skin.

Some people
find sadness
in the rain,
umbrellas facing the cloudy sky,
rain boots splashing
in depthless puddles.
Others find sorrow
within the sun rays,
restless hands waving fans
in sweaty faces.

You can’t appreciate the sunshine
if you have never experienced the storm,
they say.
