"I'm restless, I think I'll go for a walk."

And so, you visited Ephesus,
on the ancient coast of Ionia,
browsing books in the Library of Celsus.

You wandered through
large ionic columns in Jerash,
the chariot marks of
the Oval Forum and Cardo
visible at your feet.

You then climbed Mount Alban
to the rise of its 2,200 terraces,
“Grand Plaza” shadowed from the sun,
where the ritualistic games
often meant death.

"How was your walk?"
I asked upon your return.

"Substantial," you said
falling back into bed.
"But not as tangible
as my life with you."

I already knew that I could fly

But only when I saw you

I chose to be caged

i take another sip of lies you fed me like the salinity filling my lungs
But your lies they taste good
Like the whispers in my ears
All the doubts and the fears
It felt like years
I still think about it
A constant cycle of empty promises
Like saltwater in my lungs
But I keep coming back for more
Replenish and regret
I try to forget
You, brunette
Oxygen debt
Deficient of you I need more
Like saltwater in my lungs

starry eyed, oh, girl
I catch my breath, to look at you
summer kissed,
winter dream
Adrift, In your colors,
peaches and cream
starry eyes snowy nights
slow drives your hands in mine
you’ve never felt so right

Red dress confessions
on a black dress
kind of evening
slip one off
slip the other over your shoulders
make sure your
eyeshadow and knickers
match your intentions
otherwise we might never
get the opportunity
to have this last dance
to our song
before outside forces
separate
you and I
forevermore
