Hear ye my statute, men of Attica--
Ye who of bloodshed judge this primal cause;
Yea, and in future age shall Aegeus's host
Revere this court of jurors. This the hill
Of Ares, seat of Amazons, their tent,
What time 'gainst Theseus, breathing hate, they came,
Waging fierce battle, and their towers upreared,
A counter-fortress to Acropolis;--
To Ares they did sacrifice, and hence
This rock is titled Areopagus.
Here then shall sacred Awe, to Fear allied,
By day and night my lieges hold from wrong,
Save if themselves do innovate my laws,
If thou with mud, or influx base, bedim
The sparkling water, nought thou'lt find to drink.
Nor Anarchy, nor Tyrant's lawless rule
Commend I to my people's reverence;--
Nor let them banish from their city Fear;
For who '**** men, uncurbed by fear, is just?
Thus holding Awe in seemly reverence,
A bulwark for your State shall ye possess,
A safeguard to protect your city walls,
Such as no mortals otherwhere can boast,
Neither in Scythia, nor in Pelops's realm.
Behold! This Court august, untouched by bribes,
Sharp to avenge, wakeful for those who sleep,
Establish I, a bulwark to this land.
This charge, extending to all future time,
I give my lieges. Meet it as ye rise,
Assume the pebbles, and decide the cause,
Your oath revering. All hath now been said.

Incorporeal wooing
-- benighted brown study,
slow to bleed,
turning on its axis,
wintergreen leaf
in free fall,
when all alone
the butterfly escapes the killing jar,
to parlously play along
this dulcet bine,
strumming crura,
like Orlando to faire Rosalind
in the Valley of Hinnom,
"a hunger uncurbed by nature's calling,"
which prayerfully ascends,
asking for cotyledon to appear
by break of day/dream.

Do you live in a race, or must you race to live?
Do you enjoy your waters, or are you a pet fish?
If we sprang forth from the earth and grew unheeded,
Uncurbed, but never needed,
Would we have been better at living?

Is it better to have it done, or should you do it yourself,
At what point do you enjoy your fantasies, better than not being able to see?
Should the life of mankind be inevitable?
Maybe it already is. Maybe all this is a distraction

But again, the struggle, as they say, is real
Living is fighting, the wars, the battles, are not surreal.
For in every human being, there is something you conceal.
If we are atoms that science seeks to break down,
As like the seconds, minutes, hours are meant just for us.
And bigger things observe it as such.

Not to be mistaken for the snow globe scenario,
But instead likened to the trillion or so cells, that are observed,
in the human being.

Some of my favourite "six-word" memoirs. I have the book that Smith Magazine had edited and tbh, I'm enjoying the company.

Just a little challenge for myself as I formed the best memoirs (for me) into a whole literary. Yay!

Eyes closed, a passing view,
Sparks flickered and grew,
A huge screen of thoughts,
Cities of desires, mountains of fancies aloft,
Sketches drawn, designs, nuances of the past,
Reel by fast.
I writhe, smile and sigh
As a story forms,seen only by I,
Loved ones already dead,
With some, friendly tiffs  I had,
Broken hopes,cast away wishes,
Some people I know, love and laugh recedes,
Bad omens, angels, fairies,slumber disturbed,
Little misdemeanours, reminices uncurbed.
I dream on,build castles of thoughts,
Sometimes I no nought what about.
And when I awaken,
All of a sudden,
I feel I have been possessed by a demon,
But fresh from sleep in the morn,
It's like I have returned from heaven.
The forgotten memory
Years ago I received a video from a place I had left I put it in a drawer
where it languished for years, yesterday I played it an eerie a part of
a history I had forgotten, yet it didn't stir my emotion seeing me when
I was young and all the other people in the street it appeared abstract
most of the people moving about talking, dancing, and laughing were
with a few exceptions, long time dead.
Later what I had forgotten floated up as broken pieces of a puzzle that
made no sense . A beautiful girl why did he behave so bad towards her,
screaming a glass with high stem broke in my hand I called her a *****
my jalousie was a crescendo of uncurbed rage, I try to remember more
but only see blood on a table cloth mine?
The embryo not born had upset the galaxy and the blessed amnesia
Descended, the first act was over my first love had gone, streets are grey
after rain. I threw the video into the fire I don't want to shed tears for
the hopelessly lost.
