I never asked you for the things you gave me
I never asked
But you didn't even care
If I had asked,
would you have shut me out?
Or would you have given more?
Of your overflowing wine
of life or love or energy
( or whatever it was
that you folded into my hands
like the most secret-sacred treasure map )
You would sometimes catch me
In a gaze like a doe
Ask me things
That took time to sink in
Because I was being distracted
By my urge to count your eyelashes
We could never go outside in the cold
Because you were terrified
That your breath would crystallize and twist inside your lungs
But you loved to see how long you could hold your breath for
Underwater
There would be pauses
As time stilled to take a look at us
To check that we really were still there
And everything around us swirled
Like autumn leaves or glitter stars
Our glances would solidify
And memory struck out to capture snapshots
Everly, I never asked
Not even once, but you still gave
Everly, I can't quite grasp
I see you sometimes

the last petal fell
your footprints left mine
a love story told but which I'll never tell
hugs in mugs have now grown cold
a cut was made along the grape vine
this love story that will never be told
it's taken my heart my dear valentine
wine glasses were drained to my dearest valentine
a sparkling champagne celebrated that time
sherry go round
whisk it away
now cham-pain drain these veins of mine
I could not read between the lines anyway
time soothed this heart now, dear valentine
memories have spoken

Dear my love, we've come a long way with our lives together
We've shared almost everything, rainy days and summer
Can't compare to anything all the moments that we have
And it's worth treasuring all the memories with you my love
I started to look over the year we are together
How we made it and making it last till forever
How we were to each other and what we are now
How we change for the better as we make eternal a vow
A song will never be enough to sing how happy and greatful I am
A line from a movie will never give life to days that we shared
And I just can't get a love quotes from someone and dedicate it to thee
For the words will never verbalize the exact feelings you've given me
You will always be the reason of my smile in everyday
Of how I keep on going and striving for better in every way
