There is no greater pain
than the loss of a child
An innocent being
brought into the world;
Conceived for a purpose,
and born to bring light,
to shine aglow,
and to bring joy to every mortal
that walks the earth

A child born to bloom;
Like a flamboyant
standing in the meadow
And the red roses
standing in the sun
But soon taken away
from the world,
and snatched from the nest of its mother,

A mother so longed
to be blessed,
and her prayers be heard
from the heavens
Her heart is broken
Her tears worsened
from the pain,
as they go wetting the ground
like a flowing river,
and a running stream
bound to flow
And shall it continue to be
Or her heart be healed
from her aching loss.....

9-A MOTHER'S TEARS
A Mother's Loss
The first part of this poem narrates how a mother loses her child. A child she had longed hoped for, only for him to end up at death's horrific embrace.
The second part, titled "Death Eater", describes how little children were taken away so soon from their mothers' grip, as they wept and mourned in pains....

no magical incantation
but wordless agony
silence:

bitter and disconsolate
thunderously piercing
in all heavens
and hell;

angels cry
stopping their ears
quaking in terror
on their knees
unbearably compelled
beseeching all powers
to heed—

else
heavens and earth
destroyed!
'twas August when i cried alone
always been on my own
but i wish someone was there
while i was in despair.

i wish someone held my hand
and whispered that i will be able to stand
after this dreadful dream
and just let my emotions scream.
I was crouched in a dark corner of an ancient room...
With only a tiny stream of distant sunlight penetrating through a hole
To at least not allow the blackness to crush me to bits.

My hair was messy and my cheeks smelled of dry salty tears
My mind had begun to question my existence...
It was as if I was an object covered with dust in a forgotten dungeon, invisible to the world...
Utter loneliness threatened to drag me to the bottom of an unseen abyss
And my heart had already started to corrode with acidic bruises.

But then, as I was shifting to crouch myself better
My eye caught sight of my long, dark shadow, sitting by me
My heart was overwhelmed at the thought of how after all this time, it was still with me...

I knew, it could not speak
But I so badly wanted to ask it the reason for not leaving me alone like the remaining world...
So I spoke up...
Nothing happened for a few moments
But then, a voice echoed inside me:"I will only leave you when you have found light"

And perhaps at that fleeting moment
That one sentence was what I needed to survive!
If ever you feel alone, remember your shadow is always with you!
Thank you for reading this!
in the corner
legs crossed

hands folded
head bowed

avoiding eyes

she thinks she
does not exist

she thinks she is
not noticed

but she does not
know her power

the potential she
can never allow

herself to see

the way she
holds the world

together with
her quiet ways
the day I waited
on the curb

it was your turn
to have me

I had no watch
I could not tell time

to stop moving
so it passed

and when the
street lights came on

she decided it was
time to get me

she held my hand
and squeezed

trying to mend
my broken heart
