Why does it hurt so bad?
We weren't anything
but your rejection stings.

You said all the right things,
I fell for all your promising.
I guess its my fault, at least just a tad.

Tell me please,
what happened,
Bees?

You spoke with ease.
Then ghosted
me.

Why does it hurt so bad?
We weren't anything
but your rejection stings.

Crooked
shadows, lonely figures
yellowed pages, splotched ink
broken promises littering nostalgic
lanes down the river of green and grey.
Reduced to these pile of letters some drizzle later
dusty, wet, and so so bitter.

Taking her in is a wonderful thing
No longer does peace rhyme
with my suffering-
Today it’s rational fears;
A test, eating well-
Going off to college and
dying off to hell-
Now peace is my room in the morning light
It’s Baroque chords and high marks and
skirts tight-
It’s comfort, and people,
And especially her,
It’s her bold mouth and walking hand in hand
The same hands under her shirt-
And finally do I know what life’s meant to mean.
And finally do I realize peace does not rhyme with
suffering.

silly boy
silly girl

those borders
are artificial

designed for
someone else

for some long
ago purpose

they don’t
belong to us

we are natural
our mother

made us free

we can walk
together

where ever
we want

look at the
land

do you see
any lines

my little
blue heart
aches

it can’t speak

has feelings
but no words

to express them

so I take a walk
into a dark field

and lie down

surrounded by
yellow petals

I fell asleep in
the land of

the sunflower
and pray for

some of their
brightness

to leak into
my little blue

heart
