Two sparrows squabble.
Scraping along rain gutter.
Brightening blue heart.

The love we won
is so remote.
The time has gone
since we wrote.

Pain concealed
behind pale hands.
A heart be healed
in distant lands.

Hear my plea
in simple rhyme.
Words cross the sea
and mind no climb.

Ditch the knife
my love is true.
I give my life
for one with you.

When the days are copies
and pass by like hazy dreams.

Then it's time to reflect
and ask yourself some questions.

Why live without reason
and work from darkness to dark?

What's the point?
Simplicity. Is it the antidote?

To find new aspirations
by looking into yourself.

No if, no when.
Just you, just now.
Holidays. Too much time to think.

She enters the room
like illuminating sun.
I freeze in the dark.

Once a year I time travel
10,000 miles back
to my childhood place.

Here I am still a little boy
enjoying his mother’s food.

It’s a museum of frozen memories.
Nothing changes except the
reflections in the mirrors.

I ignore the worries about
age and illness and relish
the time with those I love.
There's no place like home.

My love is hard liquor.
Why are you still sober?
Loving someone more than they love you.
