I could swear my heart is bleeding, so why is my pen run dry?
I could swear my eyes are streaming, so why won't my pen cry?

i swirl in van gogh.
i am charcoal stains
on blue,
a smile of barbed wire
for the painter,
i am mona lisa, true.

monet, he paints me
calm waters,
water lilies floating
in solitude,
he doesn't see
the fire sprouting
in my veins.

picasso cannot stain
my heart with colour,
magritte cannot
create a masterpiece
out of my eyes.

to be immortalized
i beg in pink
lick the brush
and paint myself
alive.

end my days
in escher,
sketch myself
out of the stairway,
into the globe.

throw myself
at deaths eye,
kiss the canvas
rotten, ******,
*pretty.

I want to taste the words
that lie on the tip
of your sinner's tongue

ghostly beings in ghost-town streets
tourists dressed in night-gown sheets

empty shelves; empty shopper
tempus fugit; clockstopper

november fog; chilly bones
midnight leaves me so alone

i can't feel your warmth right now
can't see you in torchlight now

no miracles, no visions
no stars for me to wish on

just us and the freezing air
just you captured in their snare

just me and my own shortfall
a ghost who loves a mortal
december, please hurry up.

His body emerged
From the deep blue ocean
Heart barely beating and
Eyes almost closed

They left him for dead.

The sun's light burned him
And its heat suffocated him
But he kept wondering
How would it feel
To touch the sun.

Once again,
Icarus rose
Towards the sun

Believing this time
Things would be different
But as long as the sun
Remains the sun
And Icarus
A blind believer
Fate won't change its course

So, once again,
Icarus fell.
And found himself
More broken
Than before.

Their metaphors and smilies
didn't strike no chord with me,
For the language lacked musicality.
The words written slowly drifted
Across the page and died silently.
I was about to give up
When notes began to appear
And flutter delicately
Across the page,
Rising, rising to create a symphony,
Filled with awe and meaning
Until they sang
brilliantly, resonating,
Haunting me beautifully.
