PaperclipPoems May 2016
Little girl with bright blonde hair
Cheeks painted pink
Playfully hid behind the table
"Mommy do you see me?"

Innocent eyes and a smile so grand
Her laugh so bubbly
She looked up to her mother
"Mommy do you see me?"

Her mother looked down
And she covered her eyes
Only just for a moment
But she opened to a surprise

Her baby girl had grown too fast
And she herself was aged and weary
In the hospital bed, by her side her daughter sat
"Mommy don't leave me"

Two protruding supple *******--
on much toned down
lactating, tender *******,
swollen, in anticipation
of thirst, awaiting open mouthed,

---are gently pushed in between
pursed, eager, fumbling lips,
of the newborn, who in no way knows,
what happens, in this world of strangers.

When milk in one is fully drained, as if by prompt,
it's the turn of the other full one, he knows.

Each one is avariciously taken in
by saliva dripping cute baby lips,
instinctively discerns it as "Mama dear"
even without opening tired  eyes
that fear the rushing, hurting light.

Motherly warmth, the distinct scent, his nose smells first
the bonding felt, when held close to her  warm *******,
incessant flow of lukewarm milk of love;
aren't these enough to make her presence felt
in the baby's nascent mind, that craves for a  mom?

This is the  precise moment, of the 'new born mother'
Mother, the flowing milk of life, protector, care giver.

As if in a dream just began to unfold,
the new born, like a bloom disarmingly smiles!
Closing her eyes as if to join in the baby's dream,
the mother suckles the infant in self oblivion.
The meaning of the pride written on her face
in hues of crimson, only a mother could fully discern.

I bathe in my own tears
The blood of my soul drenches my skin
Brings me back to life
Temporarily

A Phoenix
rising from her ashes
set ablaze from spontaneous combustion
The explosion floods regrets
and feeds an unseen cusp

She called me then,
To say she wants to see me.
I kept mum, and didn't go.
I gave excuses that I were busy,
And she heard me holding her pain.

She called me again,
To visit her soon,
She was in tears, and was desperate,
I said I'll see her, once the time is right,
And she hung up, as hopeless as before.

She called me yesterday,
Her voice was weak,
She wanted to see me, but I didn't go,
I said I'll be there in a few days,
She silently agreed to me.

Today I'm going to meet her,
She, my mom, lay there still.
Her eyes are closed and calm,
She never complained anymore,
All she did was welcome me with her dead silence.

A new journey
A new role
No longer just a wife
But now a mother
A Challenge to be better
To care and guide
A new journey
A new role
Excitement and fear
Happiness and sadness
So many adventures will come
Am I ready for
A new journey
A new role

My Baby just called.
Bummed that the
Plasma Bank turned her away.
Veins too damaged for a Give.
Her blood no longer worth $40.

The Silence
The Long
The Empty
The Long
Moments that tell me she
doesn't have bus fair, because
she lost her job last week.
I paid Her rent. A safe room in
a good house that helps me
sleep at Night knowing she is
warm in this deep of Winter.

Imbued with emotions,
I quiet...
My Center
My Heart
My Mama Pain
She tells me she was
near Home last night.
Wanted to see the Kitties.
Lay in her Bed.
That's all Mom, that's all...

The locks have been changed.
She does not have a key.
Finally found a ride home
in the middle of the night as
I drank six hours of sleep.

Heart of My *****
My Spirit.
Taken from Us
Taken from Me.
Taken from Herself.

My Hurt
My Anger
My Disbelief
That something
stronger than Love
dictates her Desires.
She is only 19.
