I spread my wings tonight
It's 9pm
Driving through Cypress
Trying to keep the tears from
mixing with the late night lights
and narrow roads

The night is getting weary
It's 11pm by now
Four long hours to go
The windows slide down
to reveal the bitter cold
that chips at my lips

Nothing feels like home
but I know I'll be okay

7 April 2024 - It just is. Time drives our 3D world forward. We can model back and forth, but we will never escape Time.

We're finally here
Driving long miles tired
Arriving safely
About long road trips

Coasting along the interstate the sun trickles down the horizon,
Bleeding into the land darkness casts its cloak on the land,
Moonlit fantasies decorate the skies as she shifts her gears to surge ahead,
Euphoria of the ride engulf her mind's eye - matching heaven's every stride,
An endless wanderer,
Lost in the journey's mayhem.

The asphalt
underneath me
glistens from
the rain

The rain
splashes
my uncovered
thighs and arms

And the
fresh air
makes me
feel alive

VERSE ONE
Can't shake the feeling
when I look at you
in the front seat
And see you smiling

And then you glance
back at me lovingly

I love the sound of your voice

As you turn up the volume dial

To sing out loud really proud

I love the way you make me feel

CHORUS
You can take control
Of my stereo
As long as I can ride with you
We can go wherever you want to
As long as I can ride with you
Into the city, out to the country
Along the coastal roads
You can take control
Of my stereo
As long as I can ride with you

VERSE TWO
I've got one hand on the wheel
As you put your hand in mine
And there's no other place
I'd rather be but by your side
Whether it's on a late-night drive
Or a scenic cruise through the day
We can have the windows down
Let your hair flow in the wind
Or windows up with the A/C on
Blowing a gentle breeze
It's all your choice baby

CHORUS
You can take control
Of my stereo
As long as I can ride with you
We can go wherever you want to
As long as I can ride with you
Into the city, out to the country
Along the coastal roads
You can take control
Of my stereo
As long as I can ride with you

VERSE THREE
Tell me, girl
Where would you like to go tonight
Do you have a place in mind
Or should we let the stars be our guide
Tell me, girl, would you like to take a drive with me tonight
I like the way the music lights up your face
When your favourite song comes on
I like the way you sing along
To every word through every verse
I love every moment spent with you
This is why I'm so in love with you

CHORUS
You can take control
Of my stereo
As long as I can ride with you
We can go wherever you want to
As long as I can ride with you
Into the city, out to the country
Along the coastal roads
You can take control
Of my stereo
As long as I can ride with you
Forty-five down the parkway.
Windows down,
76 degrees,
And the smell of rain.
Humidity,
Wet earth,
Flowing through the windows
And down my throat,
Through my lungs,
Into my bloodstream and
Blanketing itself around my brain.
Nostalgia is my drug of choice.
Beauty doesn’t come
In forms of days like these
Too often.
