A blessing comes soon
From this food we consume
From places around the world
Another feeds a small girl
With the same seed we eat
From your table to my teeth
What a delight we can share
Whilst spreading culture everywhere
had pizza with pineapple and mushrooms on it for the first time

In my striving to achieve
joy and happiness,
I find it useful
to study carefully
all the hundreds of cultures
of the world
to discover
how each culture
achieves joy and happiness
in their own unique way.
For example:
What food do they eat
to achieve nutrition-joy and taste-joy?
What music do they listen to
to achieve music-joy?
How do they dance
to achieve dance-joy?
How do they govern themselves
to achieve a joyful and happy society?
How do they feel and think
to achieve joy and happiness?

His hair so rich and thick
Spiraling upward higher and higher
Voluminous in appearance
Bold in its statement

Copious curls demanding attention
Natural, beautiful and free flowing
Standing tall to whomever it encounters
Sunlight beaming into its brown hue

It tells a story of bloodline and culture
Narrates history, prejudice, acceptance
Perseverant by nature
Resilient against criticism

I worship his hair from a distance
Yearning to feel it in between my fingers
Kiss his strands one by one
Inhale its scent like aromatherapy
The man on the street who sells roses to those who are prone to divorces ,in days so cold, ice is no needed,
leave in summer come back in November
thoughts of suicide
stress to my hunger
crackers in my salsas.
where did all the tortillas chips go
Lots of stuff on my minds and tons of drafts.

What's the difference
from staying in your house
and being in prison?

Why do we live in a culture
where we are players on a monopoly board?

We aren't we players forfilling our wishes or dreams?
Goals and desires

Where we watch coloured thirty inch screens
Screens of other peoples life stories
Instead of creating our own story

Why do we diminish ourselves?

Why are we players in someone elses dream?

Fear in our advertisements
Rather than freedom

If this life
Your life
Was your only

Why are you a player in someone elses dream?

Cut the ****
Cut all the negative ****

"I want to pay bills, and work a nine to five until I die"
Said no child ever

The man in the suit robs you
He cashed this in for the happiness of others

There is a world out there
197 million square feet of it
Dont chose to spend most of it in 97 feet of it the furniture of deadly comfort zones.
Thought provoking poem on life and the modern world
A gold of blare that is so fine
With people from all nations you can't define
Inspired by faith that is so true
That makes people sort out their hue.

People are challenged by the great storm ahead
Which makes their life flat on bed
Encountered by cultures that is so rich
That strikes their skin like a bleach

When you'll travel on their unwinding cast
Make sure that you're strong enough that you'll last
Coz when you'll be back in your homeland
You will proudly say, I have made it without dismay

Meaningful connection.

5 seconds for thought.

Don't rush.

5 seconds for thought.

Contemplate.

5 seconds for thought.

Speak. Express. Connect from the soul.

5 seconds for thought.

We are more than words.
Overwhelmed by the colloquial nuance of society.
Speak from your core.
Passion is the foundation of human existence.

quiero traerte a mi país,
y enseñarte lo que me hace feliz.
quiero llevarte a los bares bonitos
donde cantan y arman jaleo.
quiero pasar por debajo
de las pérgolas preciosas del parque
con mis manos colgando
de donde dobla tu brazo.
quiero llevarte a la iglesia
y bailar y alabar contigo.

pero lamento
que no será posible.
es solamente un sueño
que veo yo solita.
porque tú estás pensando
en tu propio paraíso
y no creo que me incluya.
si no, me lo dirías.
duele querer algo con
alguien que no desea lo mismo.

duele
ver alguien tan cerca de ti
que piensa que estás
demasiado lejos de él.
no sé cómo la gente lo hacen
cuando se enamoran
en otro país.
la mente se queja,
el corazón lamenta,
y el alma llora del dolor.
the ache that longing brings lingers close around you.

I was six when we used to play fairy
The unknown didn’t even bother me,
I went along with the rhythm
The neighborhood was my kingdom
The front yard was my palace
And nothing has malice.

We used to play pretends
Along with friends, without stupid trends
Worlds of magic and fantasy,
Flashily, randomly, valiantly, yet on rhapsody.
We made up spells and slayed dragons.
Years later, we had our own battles.

We looked at each other and all they think about is ***
All they do now is flex
Milktea, Sampgyupsal, Iphone X
Everybody now is an object of what's next.
Those things that should be treasured forever,
I wonder if they still remember.

Remember how the cold breeze of Christmas mixed well in December,
How "Ber Months" was welcomed by September,
How happy it was to do trick or treats at November
When celebrations meant for every family member to be together.
People forgot so fast like it was plaque,
No one even tried to be awake.

Kids these days will never understand
The heat of afternoon I withstand
To play "Patintero", "Garter" and "Piko"
How we chased "Binatog" and "Taho"
To have our bare foot at the heat or wet ground
With ignorance at our feet, we had the world as our playground.

All I seen in social media is words,
Words of people who wants likes and hearts.
I guess only few remember,
How good it was when we were younger.
Ignorance was bliss
When did we become like this?
I've read a poem here entitled "Ignorance was Bliss" so I decided to make my own version. No plagiarism intended, full credits to the rightful owner of the idea, unfortunately I can't find the poem anymore and I can't give proper credits.
