she speaks pretty, with the lilt of a lullaby
she needs to learn where her loyalties lie

betrayed by her beauty and the love in her voice
her lies an option when faced with a choice

the face of an angel, innocent and sweet
she'll spin you a story, not missing a beat

with a heart of stone and eyes of stardust,
she'll ruin your day along with your trust
And then there were eight.

Frequently,
I watch people
who try
consciously
or
unconsciously
to become
copies
of others.

They pursue
the same goals,
settle in
the same
lifestyle,
and
measure themselves
with the same ruler,
never realizing
they are so much more
than the cog
they behave like.

"Jewel"

Watched it all through the lenses

of a boy without defenses.

That’s when the world was ugly,

and I hadn’t developed senses.

Crippled imagination,

built up wisdom with cunctation,

my peers all mocking smugly.

Assent, their single fixation.

I survived adolescence.

Thoughts, a cultural excrescence.

Could everything be broken?

Just a jest of convalescence.

I knew I’d end up finding

how to loosen up the binding.

And when the words were spoken,

swift, the future went unwinding.

“I do.” She said. And I too.

We wed and were reborn anew.

But where would we set our sights

but a happiness overdue?

The life we’d made extended,

though after some life had ended.

She swims through days, sleeps through nights.

Loved as I’d always intended.

A mystery, pain, torment.

And virtue, we misrepresent.

Fire is hot, and ice is cold.

And naught I can do to prevent.

But love is warm. Courage, cool.

So allow these to be your fuel.

I’ll teach her then, to be bold,

shine in the sun like a jewel.

You changed your face
But your smile’s still the same

You took to the knife
Wanting ****** fame

Fillers in your lips
Silicone in your hips

You’re skin’s got to break
To get your body that fake

He didn’t accept you for who you are
So you changed. You went too far.
And then there were nine.

I've been told how to look
What to feel!
What to say!
So you are expecting me to be a certain way
Surrounded by all these faces I say that I don't fit in
I see less of myself compared to that girl over there laughing ....

But maybe that's  superficial
Maybe she's just like me
Hiding under a shell, and not letting others see
Maybe she wakes up with the biggest regret
Maybe she doesn't want to laugh but that's not right compared to what society says

But I'm here for you girl, and I know you cannot hear
But feel it within that it doesn't end here
I know you feel crushed, hopeless and like nothing else matters
But still feel it inside that it's going to get better

I know you've heard this a million times, better days will come
But believe me when I say the worst has not yet arrived
I know you think its hard and  what's the point in living when you see your self-esteem getting crushed upon even in every single one of your dreams

It will get better, say that out loud
Not because others will make it so, but because you have the guts to throw down what others expect, disagree with what others think, crush down that conformity that society has put you in
You will make it far, try to understand
And once you believe it, the mask you have put on will finally disappear it.

It started out fine
But then one played the game

So we all walked the line
And then none were the same

Still we missed every sign
Ten more victims to maim

My mind wasn’t mine
We had become
The girls with no name
Wanna hear how we all fell apart? Once upon a time, there was ten.

the stones are thrown
the flock transforms
from sheep to wolves
to eat their own
...sheep transform to wolves to satisfy the purpose of judgment through inhumane unification of perception, achieved by the compromise of willing desensitization...
