A Apr 2019
I wept for a life that was stolen
I cried myself unconscious missing a golden reflection
Sneaking breaths of memories trapped in the dark
Like an utter fool

I gave up such a precious portion
Handing over what used to be sacred
While whispering words too secret to be audible
Unaware of my folly

Limping through my days on crippled wings
And now wincing at the knowledge of what I helped create
What was once so revered, what was once so precious
Has slowly slipped through these fingers

I spun in circles under the sleepy stars
I let the burn envelope me
Suffocating in order to believe
That I wasn't just another foolish girl

You always drown my mind...
Even when you're not mine...

so did i
break your heart,
so did i
say something bad,
so did i
let you down,
or i was just not
enough for you?

I scribbled you love
the only way I knew how—
in verses and rhyme.

Found my handwriting
on discarded scrap paper...
didn’t even blink.
These are two haikus kinda crushed together just bc I wrote them separately at completely different times about different things but somehow they fit together perfectly

He told her she was special;
That he’d never break her heart.
He’d stay with her forever;
They would never be apart.

She trusted his words,
Not once having doubts.
But little did she know,
It wasn’t her he cared about.

His love was warm
But it held no spark.
And when she needed him most,
He would leave her in the dark.

With deafening shouts, he made it clear.
His love for her had disappeared.
And once he knew she understood,
He slammed the door and left for good.

His words were empty.
His love had been a lie.
Yet still he holds her heart
Even after the last goodbye

She knew it would happen,
Truth be told.
But not once did she think
He could be this cold

The signs were there –
Clear as day.
She took no notice
And trusted him anyway

Despite being broken
She knew she’d heal.
For if love could fade
Then so could pain.
Love is a dangerous thing. To some it's a game. To others it's real. This poem shows how a guy breaks a girls heart but she knows that over time it'll heal

Can
Can love really come from all this pain?
Can I find the smile I lost after all these tears?
Can I see the beauty in me after seeing the beauty you longed for?
Can we truly be for each other after I’d wished we weren’t at all?
