I was happy being a mountain range
Admired by those wishing to explore
One day I caught sight of quite a beauty
This mountain range made me eager
To explore peaks and run down slopes
Feel every dip and groove of rough terrain
And find my way through every cave
I want these plates beneath me to quake
So that my range can be with your range
Let me be the snow that covers you whole
To feel myself melt in your warmth
Say you'll have me and give into desire
Allow my prints on your wonderful earth
For the future explorers to envy
Maybe then my yearning for you will cease
Or maybe I'll stay exploring forever

Bloom

A Wegner
Leaves alight
Ice in my veins
calmest crawling calamity,
Slowly enraging serenity

Ashen fall
Forever frail and perishable
An insignificant mass of beautiful petals
Crushed beyond repair
You don't want to hide it
You know what's there

I didn't do it for me
I did it for you
And that's what helped me bloom
I was gone and you were there
Repairable don't you see?
The holding ground of your roots is strong
You weren't affected by the storm

Show me daylight,
Show me warmth
Let my sweet serendipitous buds form
I would say it is the end of crumpled leaves
and worn out weeds
But truth be told
I will always be close to withering
So endure the inevitable
Entwine our pedicles and
Let's claim the soil together
Please never rely on weather
My bloom is more reliant
on the Sun than you might think

I hope you miss me
The way I miss you

But I also hope you don't
Because I am miserable
And you deserve more
This is silly but I don't care sorry
I still look for you, you know
I wait and hope that you will be there
once a month, maybe, I will see you
you sit next to me and we launch into conversations
making up for lost time, perhaps?
All too brief and then you are gone
I journey the rest of the way in a heavy silence
thinking about what I should've said
last I saw you I wanted to rest my head
on your shoulder, like I used to
but I didn't
because that would hurt, in the end

It is as they say; hope breeds eternal misery
I don't know if he'll see this
I don't know if I want him to
Concept: I whisper to the moon that I cannot sleep and she sends me dreams of ocean waves and whale songs

Pain brings out the best of me, so that all that's left is an empty disappointment. Don't try to tell me you don't look at the stars and think of me. Every time I drag a smile across my face, I feel my thoughts tug down at the corners of my mouth. Funny how you beg to hear my voice, but you never pick up the phone. Why does everyone treat me right but you? My enemies kiss my hand before they slit my throat, but you prefer to waltz in unannounced and rip my sanity up shred by shred. You broke everything I ever was. I've cried for hours over you. You **** me inside. I hope we end up together.

She says "Cupid is irresponsible."
I say "I think he lost my address."
She says "Love hurts."
I say "So do life and death."
She says "I've been in love so often I feel like cupid's been using me for target practice."
I say "I can count how many times I've been in love on an amputee's stump."
She says "I feel bad for you."
I ask "Why?"
She says "Because love is worth it."
I say "I have love."
I say "I have known love that does not fade,
The love between parents and children."
I say "I have known a love both reliable and invisible
The love between true friends."
She says "It's not the same."
I ask "How is it different?"
She says "My love is like a volcano, all passion and warmth. It comes from deep inside you and flies. It flies higher than either of us ever could."
She says "Your love is like a coal. Always there to keep you warm, but it'll never fly or burn like my lava."
I say "Your lava crashes and cools. But so long as someone's there my coal will always burn."
I say "People run from your lava, but they gather around my coal."
She says "But you can't form an island with coal."
I say "You're right."
"Aha!" She exclaims. Thinking she's got me.
"But wait." I say
I tell her "I intend to find your love. To find that lava and ride it, and I know no matter what I do I can never truly prepare for it, but that doesn't mean I won't try."
I say "I want that love you speak of."
"But" I tell her "the only way to survive a volcano is to prepare. To strap down all your possessions and to get a gas mask."
She laughs at me and with a wild look in her eyes she says "Then how do you enjoy the ride?"
I smile and say "Not as much as you, but I can stay on that ride forever."
She stops for a moment and looks at me.
As I get down one knee
and ask
"Will you marry me?
Will you show me that love you speak of,
a love of beauty, passion and rage."
and with a tear in her eye
she says "Yes
I'll marry you my little sage."
