you are
right

i do not
like having
fun.

because
you

~i feel like i'm being choked, and not in a fun way
Life has moments worth living and
is too beautiful to insist into unavailing loves.
Life is too short trying constantly to fix
mistakes of the past,
is too subversive to rest upon provisional facts
for the scraps inflict new wounds
and all that matters is not how many wounds
have been opened but how many
can be closed.

From the darkened perch I sit
Wondering about that glittering golden galaxy
And if I can say the same
About I wonder what will happen to you

So I tried a new rhyme
To see if it would work
Sadly, it didn't

It clashed, it burned

A sound was heard at my
garden door
A feathered smudge found upon it

There she lay in frightened
trembling dismay
   A giant knelt ...
yet still towering above her

He reached out and touched
her pounding heart
Then cupped her warmth
in his hand

She stayed awhile until
she could smile
At the kindly human mystery

This love they shared
is uncommonly rare
She knew she could be freed

Before she flew
she whispered a song she knew
into the gentle giant’s  beard :

“I cannot make you happy
You're a wounded Bird like me ―
be Free...
you must find the strength to Fly”…

"A Bird in your hand
is worth two in the bush ―

   Come fly away with me"...

Thank you so much for the special feature this simple heartfelt poem has been allowed.  It is based on actual events that happen often where habitat
meets civilization.  As humans we can mitigate this footprint left behind by lifting the weight of caring with actions that speck louder than words. Who among us has not needed a helping hand when we are struggling with the unexpected?  Moments we must find the strength to carry on with a little help from our friends?

Find the strength to fly ―

We all have our own love stories
each in different categories.
Those that didn't turn out well,
those that fell
and those who never understood
why their partner was up to no good.

We all have our sad love stories too,
including the ones we never really knew.
We all have our hearts broken
all because of each word spoken
it's a love story, baby, just say yes.
Like tiny cracks in the cement that spill out on the sidewalk  her smile.
Like chinks in these metal plates reminding me of here intentionally placed flaws.
She is a melody of unforgettable lullabies that sing me to sleep.
Or usher me to greatness.
And I'll never forget her small nods to nothingness that are behavioral, habitual, silently eloquent beauty.
Her hand gestures that splatter on paper like ink.
Violently she covers her face when she's shy like the waves covering the ocean floor.
And her mysteries speak louder than the voices in my head.
That's why when she speaks all I can ever think about is her attention.
Swooning
Lashing out like a child who can't get a second glance on his elementary crush as he moves cities.
I just wish I could move into her heart.
Because her simple nods of beauty.
Her simple eyelashes that quiver when surfaced against her cheeks.
I'm not awestruck.
I'm awe stuck.
Its not her beauty on her skin.
But the beauty that lies within.
And she wears these emotions like a cursive tattoo on her skin.
I'm in love with the simple gestures and habits she may think are natural for everyone else.
Because her small beauties.
Are what makes her most beautiful to me.

Make my heart warm again.
