Thoughts set in concrete, must be a bore
To know what is in store
Kills creative thinking
Change my mind between blinking.

There's a much bigger picture
than we can see,

Tiny glimpses escape through the cracks
inspiring you and me,

One day we will bathe in an ocean of rapture because I've seen your face.

Behind you,
behind you

The frustration begins

Every time,
he looks around,
he doesn't see or hear a sound.

Reality knocks,
The penny drops.

Or,
Are we all still shouting
behind you,
behind you?

I was sitting in my old rocking chair
Taking in the mountain air

All of a sudden I was filled with panic!
Oh no, for goodness sake!
not another earthquake!

But then these words I do declare
woodworms taken a liking to my chair
woodworms taken a liking to my chair

I rub the place where I had hair!
woodworms taken another rocking chair
woodworms taken a liking to my chair.
Just trying to make you laugh with this one : ))

Gull's,
The only sound.
Bobbing around,
I'm
Wave
Waiting

The right one
Arrives,
A
Liquid
Mountain
Slide

Curling around,
I'm
Inside,
An
Exhilarating
Ride

Momentum spent,
The
Moment
Came and
Went

All this fun,
Turn
Around,
Face the
Sun

Paddle
Through the
Breakers,
Towards the

Song - Surfs up,  The beach boys
Nick Moore Nov 2024
The
lime tree
Stood on top
Of The Hill,
The ground around
With limes
Did it
Fill

One Decending lime
Rolling to the
Incline,
Got itself
Into a
Spin

Tumbling down
With no Jill
After

Hitting the road side
A car did abide,
By changing its
Shape to
Flat,
But!
Deep into
The tyre grip
Went a
Pip

Spinning around
To the engine's
Sound,
It's DNA
Got slightly
Altered

After coming to a
Full stop,
The fastidious Chauffeur
Noticed,
The
Wheel didn't
Need a
Seed,
Flicking it over a
Wall,
Where it landed
Upon fertile
Land

As the seed started to grow
It's branches began
To twist

Ten years went by
As quick as a
Roll
Of you're
Eye

The land
That the tree,
Let It's roots spread free
Also contained a
Shack,
And as the morning
Broke,
The old man
Awoke

Starting his daily routine,
The days
Always seemed
The same,
But
He was clever enough to know,
There was no-one
To
Blame
But
Himself,
Life just seemed to
Snooker him,
Into this
Pocket

His only venture out,
Was the local store,
Supplying all that
Was
Needed

But
Before setting off,
Something was calling to
His
Attention,
The sound of a bird
Never
Heard

Heading down
The overgrown
Path,
The bird suddenly stopped,
And
While flying off,
He saw something,
Never seen
Before

A tree bering limes,
From it's
Corkscrew branches,
But
Not any old limes,
Their skins
Also
Had a
Twist

Picking one up,
Marvelling at the shape,
He headed off to
The store

Arriving at the door,
Felt like
Not
Before,
This day was like
No
Other

Gathering his supplies,
Catching the
Shopkeepers eye,
"A very good day to you"

"I don't mean to sound rude
But you're in a good mood"
She said, while giving
Him a
Smile

"What would you think
If I asked you out
For a drink?"

"I'd grab
Hat and coat,
Lock up this old store
And we'd be on our way"

With his best smile in years
He said
"Well let's go"

Arriving at the bar,
He asked for two
Mojitos

The barman
Shook his head,
"We're all out of limes!"

The old man's eyes
Lit up
Song, Terrorvision, Tequila

Every time I gaze Upon this Scene,
It's like I'm living inside a dream
Those eyes,
What thoughts behind?
Oh
To see
Inside you're mind

Waters flow around you,
Course towards
Cold depths,
Distant sound of shallow breaths

Lifeline
Now
Thinning,
You're voice
Can be heard,
Still
Singing

Hands in abbhaya mudra position,
Flowers still held,
Fate has a mission

On you're journey,
No fear
Is
Shown,
Everyone gone,
Now
All alone

Lost love
Drove you to this,
The contract,
Has been sworn,
Not death
But reborn
Inspired by the paintings of John Everett Millais.
The abhaya mudra is a hand gesture that symbolizes protection, peace, and the dispelling of fear. It is also known as the "fearlessness gesture" because the word abhaya means "fearlessness" in Sanskrit.

Austere, everywhere!
only me for
that I care

In my dream, two apples
fall from a tree,
Roll down the hill
next to me

There I lay
in foetal bliss,
behold she comes to me
The
Goddess
Wrote this one after reading an article about oral personalities and **** personalities.

There's sanctuary
to which I can flee,

Somewhere there's a door
you cannot open
locked inside of me

There I can enjoy
mysterious and
dreadful
freedom.

Seeing shapes in the clouds
on this exquisite day,
look a horse frolicking in the hay

Now look! A witch
and that little one's starting to look like a cat,
even the top of her head looks like a pointed hat

Some say there's a connection
between mind and cloud,
unconscious patterns
externally stand proud

And on a day like today
it's hard not to believe
it's true.

The thought inside the mind,
the mind inside the thought

The seed inside the tree,
the tree inside the seed

The world inside you,
the you inside the world

The inner space to the outer space,
the outer space to the inner space

The dream inside the mind,
the mind inside the dream

The truth in the lie,
The lie in the truth.

Walking past a window
I see a woman crying
Wondering about all the scenario's
That could have befallen her?
Boyfriend problems?
Financial situation?
Job stress?
Just having one of those days?

I do the only thing
I can
Send her positive thoughts
And carry on with my day

Kate finished chopping and
Wiped a meaningless
Onion induced tear away
Carrying on with her day

The swings hum softly in the wind,
clouds drift like slow balloons,
and the rivers race each other,
laughing all the way to the sea.

Mountains wear their crowns of snow,
trees play tag with the breeze,
while the stars peek through at night,
waiting for the sun to hide and seek.

But we, so busy building walls,
forget the feel of grass beneath our feet.
We hold the sky in photographs,
too scared to reach out and let it hold us back.

The rain is just a skipping stone,
tossed from some far-off, gentle hand.
The world spins like a merry-go-round,
yet we clutch the rails, afraid to let go.

Look closer, can you see it now?
The colors, bright as chalk on pavement.
The echoes of laughter in the hills,
the quiet voice that calls your name.

This world is a playground, waiting still.
Not a prison of glass and steel.
Jump higher, run farther—fall if you must.
The hands that shaped the stars
will catch you in the dust.

Song Tears for fears, Everybody Wants to Rule the World.

Open up the word book,
What do you see?
Poem’s of the mind in 3d

A stream of consciousness on every page,
It’s your mind I wish to engage.

So put on your imaginary glasses, and have another look,
What stands up inside the poet’s book.

Chaos and confusion
Can lead to disillusion

There's only one way to be
To make these eyes see

Properly

Pragmatic in the attic
a calmness and clarity

it’s the only way to be
pragmatic in the attic
To make these eyes see

Properly

What made you
Like you are?
Any conversation
Always jars

You can be so mean.
Calling others = low self esteem

To think I could be your friend

Instead of this

Something real

Not
Pretend.

Once I believed in everything
I was told
Magic was everywhere
It's truth so bold

Then a voice, came one day
Santa clause
Tooth fairy
"That stuff...no way"
What! not true?
My mind
Not knowing what to do!

So what other things ain't true?
Tell me, tell me, all that is true?
"well, all the things that are hollow and dull"
Everything else is pulling the wool

So many a year did I walk the land
Where magic was buried under the sand
Until realising the fool I had been
It was time to shuffle the cards

I was still the fool
Chasing a butterfly
But now I have to grapple
The concept of
Vomiting out the apple

I have a recurring dream
Settle down
I'll set the scene

An old house I'm renovating
Quite large with many rooms

Outside the garden needs tending
A fishpond with murky water
Broken statue
Needs mending

There's a feeling of foreboding
I try to ignore this
Concentrate on the work
One day it will be
A fine holding

There's a cupboard that's hard to find
You can climb right inside
To a shaft leading down
A
Long
Way
Down
Once you reach the bottom
There's a tunnel
That goes straight ahead
Taking a walk down
I start to forget
It's small things to start
But the further I go
More is forgotten
I'm compelled to carry on
But where do I stop?
Until I've forgotten who I am?
Until I've forgotten how to turn back!
How far can I push forward?
Each time
I try to go
Another step
Forward
Then
One
Last
Thought
Is
Left
TURNAROUND

Each step back
Brings a memory back
It's at this point
I awake

Every time I return
The renovation
Has progressed
Fish now swim
In clear water of the pond

The feeling of foreboding
Is lessening
Birds outside
Now singing

But
That cupboard is still
Hard to find
I know
If of the mind
Could find
And one more time......

Thank you for all you gave,
I feel like I've been saved

The university of life
was worth the pain and strife

Every hard lesson
Now met with forgiveness

Even death now a friend
More to come? Or the end?

Can you remember
before you were born?

Can you see beyond
your grave stone?

Can you exist in your
own time zone?

Can you remember
before you had a
name?

Can you remember
the innocence before
the shame?

Can you remember
not knowing
what to be?

Can you remember
the things
you cannot
see?

Can you remember
all the
things
that
you
forgot?

Remiel archangel of hope,

We're broke,
Devine visions you bring,
When the darkness comes

Darkness
In the day,
Not just one shade of
Grey

Jumping for the
highest reach,
to a place never ventured.

A grain of salt appeared
centre of my palm,
it was all I needed
euphoria

On arising, curiosity
got the best of me,
take it with
a grain of salt,
instant clarity.

Wild as the sea hag
leaping across ****** bay,
Rosaleen
a vision of you
on this day

Wild Rosaleen
fear and love
in your face
can be seen

The world is wasting
for the lack of you,
Dark Rosaleen

Wild Rosaleen
tears of sadness
in your eyes
can be seen

Bring back the Dark Rosaleen
back from the minds
numbed by the machine

Wild Rosaleen
seaweed and grass
in your hair
can be seen

The name has been used in Ireland since the 16th century. It may have become more popular after appearing in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Rosaleen is also a poetic symbol of Ireland.
An old one, now we have access to the old stuff, this seems to fit for these times.

There's a new craze
Down on the beech
People are having a blast
Looking for sea glass

Colours brown green and blue
Plus the clear one
You can see straight through

Now glass when broken is sharp
As you know
But the rumble and tumble
Of The ocean
And the smallest grains
Like the wings of a moth
Smoothes the edges right off

Taken from nature
Manipulated by man
Returning unwanted
Weatherd and torn
Something quite unique
Is born

If all the world's a stage
Then Bill and me
are on the same page

So when treading the boards
step softly
don't go crossing swords

give the best performance
From you're soul,
Lift others from their holes,
Put a smile on their face
If things don't work out
Try changing roles

Make it the best play ever written
Try for a good ending
maybe leave someone smitten

When the curtain comes down
And
It's just you on you're own,
there should be no frown
go to you're backstage bedroom
Sleep tight
Under the full moon,
Awake
As the birds sing,
who knows what the day brings.

Short lives
Always left wondering
What new songs
Could they be singing?

Short lives

Smashing jail house rock
For 42 years
Released in 77
Felt like I'd died and gone to heaven

Short lives

I'm getting it on
When I stare through
My corkscrew hair

Short lives

Taken to soon
Keith first man on the moon

Short lives

27 times
Waiting for Jimi's new rhymes

Short lives

No funny games
Buddy don't fly them plains

Short lives

An old poet called Jim
Still has the occasional
Whisky or gin

Long lives
Imagine playing mind games forever?

The surface has many
Tracks,
Where previous thinkers
Have passed

It's easy to slot into one
Thinking it's you're own path

Jumping grooves
The next stage,
Gaining multiple view
Confusing at times
But worth it,
The *** is starting to brew

Skating on the surface of knowledge
How fast do you want to go?
Take a break at the side
When exhausted,
What next do you want to know?

A vision of the land I see
Where trees stand tall and true,

Birds on branches nesting

Any ear would hear them sing

It’s such a shame

Together that’s me
And that’s you.

One day to the next

some not so good
some are the best
some even feel like a test

one day it transcends,
out of the coil
the souls light bends

so many idea's
everyday,
what I believe changes

Mind is whirling
Just won't stop
What's taken a whip to this top?

Thoughts splatter to the sides,
Some good,
Some try to hide.

Something's coming
But when will it arrive?

Are we the dead
or are we alive?

My friend called Bruce
had a beard
long and loose

If you looked closely
finding,
food there hiding

It didn't bother him,
he was kind and giving,
until a mouse was found there
living

What can I do about this tenant
I have acquired?
this beard I have grown
must be fired

But first find a new house
for my guest
mouse

So I looked closely
into the beard
to find, a small family
had been reared!

With some scissors
Bruce gave a grin,
As I removed the beard
from his chin............... and so the beard got sheared

Outside within a hedge
was an old birds
nest

The beard slotted in
and the family
within

I had a small doubt,
when five heads
popped out!

Returning to Bruce,
what was left of his beard
got sluiced

As sharp as a lazar
I used my cut-throat razor

So ends the story of
how I came to
spruce up Bruce.

Everyone's a star,
every new thought
creates a twinkle

We are all spinning
at different speeds,
all the patterns are
transcendent

Individuals, that are "we"

Everyone's a star,
every new thought
creates a twinkle

When you look upon
the stars, think of all
the people.
If she can carry on, Through it all, then so can I.
When you don't have to sell your soul, no need to say any more.
Had my candyfloss girl, fingers no longer sticky, what a shame.
Now living in Cornwall,
I burnt the town where I  was born, but I'll always be the resurrection.
My aim is true, my message is clear,
It's curtains for you
Charlie my dear.
Am I all alone?
Is anybody home?
Thanks to silent echo, for getting me thinking about favourite albums.

Had to call him Ziggy
It fit so well
Just a coincidence
I quite like
David Bowie

Wouldn't describe him as affectionate
A fuss when home from work
Then off to an empty room
"I want to be alone"

Now I'm put off by needy things
In the end they repel me
So Ziggy has the psychological
Upper hand on me
I'm needy for his affection

Ziggy the strange dog
When having a poo
Looks like a frog

Wish I could say
It's just me
But every day
Someone makes a comment
"He's a handsome boy"
"Where did you get him from"
"Wow, he can jump"

Now I stand in Ziggy's shadow
Someone asked another
"Do you know Nick?"
"Oh yeah,  it's Ziggy's dad!"
It could be me that's strange.

I know no reason why?
Most of what you say is a lie

Now I think, I'm finally over you.
