Let there be light
To divert the dark
Let there be love
So it will fill my heart
Let there be peace
So i may find silence
Let there be ease
So pain cannot follow
Let this be new
So i don't feel so hollow
Let there be light
And hope for tomorrow

Pictures of dead people I know
are smiling and are so full of life
hanging on my wall
reminding me
to seize this day,
because it's not cliche,
and it won't come again.

He was not cold and callous,
But warm, quiet, and kind.
His breath smelled of lilies and he kissed me softly,
Until I fell asleep in his capable arms.
You may ask what it felt like to be touched by death,
But it was I who reached out, grasped his hand, and willed him to take me away.
Instead he smiled, kissed my forehead, and promised he'd return for me.
When I slip into my lingerie
It means I am partially ready
But not to have my womanhood plucked open
For that would involve
The subliminal **** of
The underside of my skin
I do not want to be deflowered
Lest the festering corpses in my closet
Are expulsed to be
Too varnished,
Too synthetic,
But I want
Your head to shyly probe within the
Musky walls of my inner galaxy
While I embrace the
Tendons of my muscles
Yawned open like the convulsing lips
Of an exposed fish
Before it dies

A hanging thread of breakable ends
She was the spectacle of the carnival from hell
The belle of the lonely ball
Her face is the tail end of dreams once pure
Broken smiles painting tears in the clear skies
But her hands,
Oh her hands!
I pray they hold me close
For they unravel the sands of time
Speaking to me, quite insincerely,
About a past  uncertain of its fate
And of a girl intoxicated with the promises
Of empty tomorrows
Awaking her up more broken each day

You hold upon your lips lines to poems I have been trying to finish for years.
