Embers dance among the stars
Eyes grow heavy
Love is ready -
to meld with hot cocoa -
and marshmallows ,
with moonshine and shadow* ...

I. the September
the August past
a November rush
of cold air
warmth hast
forsaken these bones

every leaf has fallen
along the path
the young men plunder
or forever render useless
a waste of genius

and we sit as stumps
alongside tender shoots of grass
and striving pines
new
small as urchins here

we watch all the hustle bustle
to fro hurrying
and wonder
how those humans do it
looking at the orange

of the sunset
glow

Clutch tight the tail of the sun.
Shed your tethers
and take that ride into the next.

Redeem the possibility
of limitless tomorrows.
Because today was meant to happen
and yesterdays were never meant
to weigh you down.
I really care for you
and I know you do too.
Thanks to you,
I've become who I am.
You're not only my lover
you're my best friend.
I want to experience
so many things together.
I want to have something
that will be remembered,
I want to keep learning
and growing with you.
I love that when I least expect it,
we go through something new.
Nothing is never nothing,
when it's something with you.
I love you

The night was young.
The moon had traversed,
but only a minuscule fraction of the sky.

Between the stars was quiet...
And the breeze gentle.
Waves weren't angry
and they caressed the shore
with unspoken affection.

Ripples in the water took their time
riding the surface -
harnessing, carrying each piece of the moon.
Whispering to each other in a silent pact.
With plans to spread the shards of silver
as far as they could;
before gifting it to the next batch of carriers.

If the moon exploded into a million tiny pieces,
that was what it would look like -
confetti of silver and white
strewn over a large black cloth
that's gently flailing in the wind.

A spectacle of unwavering continuity...
Beauty and grandeur in such
tender unrest...
I tore down every bridge,
and every wall to let you in.

I dried lakes, rivers, oceans,
to save you from drowning.

I found myself,
draining in weakness to strengthen you.

You became powerful, you became immortal,
you became my god.

Now I clench onto this sadness of mine.
The loneliness you left behind.

Its the only thing that reminds me,
our story was once alive.

Its my safe place.
When you're gone,

and I need a muse to help
bleed all this pain out.

Like tonight,
when writing about the moon,
can no longer help me survive.
