The poetry isn’t in all these words β€”
It’s in knowing I survived them.
Holy smokes! Thank you everyone for all of the support! I don’t come here too often so I did not expect this; what a beautiful surprise β™₯️

It's okay for someone to make
you feel happier
But your happiness shouldn't be
hinged on them.
You need to master self-love. Whether someone loves you or not, it shouldn't tamper with the love you have for yourself.

i am not ashamed of the parts
you saw of me
you should be ashamed
of what you did with them
they always take pieces of my soul and release them to the world. they were meant just for you.

I'm ******* with Robert Frost
And the guy who wrote Paradise Lost.
I ain't happy with Aristotle,
And especially John, the weird Apostle.
Don't mention, please, Shelley or Keats,
Blake, Byron or Yeats;
Each and every one you see,
(if you're ready for some truth)
Took their themes from me.

Don't look aghast,
Don't tsk and titter,
Their thievery's left me
Mean and bitter.

Just because they said it first,
Doesn't mean I find it just.
It doesn't give them ownership
Of my themes and authorship.
I write of Roads, Good and Evil,
God and Satan, love and leaving.
I know I'm internally bleating,
But I can't abide this metric beating.

Although they're merely dust and bones,
They don't have the right to own
All the great lines I have sown:
The best laid plans of mice and men.
(I said that before Robbie Burns).

Let me make this poeticaly clear;
If I was there, or he were here,
I'd sue the *** of Will Shakespeare
.

Long overdue,
a woman of tennis
came out of the wilderness,
and gave birth to
electrolyte towers,
naturally no one would give her
the credit for such powers,
her smarts were seen as a threat,
so she took them to court,
(centre court),
and won, love set.

Saturday's child worked hard
and won the spelling bee,
but on the prize
they just couldn't agree,
she was the best in her class,
no doubt, but still
only a girl, you see,
can you guess the word
that pushed her over the top?
m-i-s-o-g-y-n-y.

i bathe with charcoal and roses
and spray nettles in my hair,
i cover my body with moon oil
and whisper my secrets to the stars
when i'm silent i can hear them
dancing in my blood
when i feel lost and truly alone
i feel their tender fingers
brushing my hair,
with their gentle voices
singing in my ear
