Today I saw you as you.
I saw everything about you.
I studied you.
I attempted to understand you.

I shift my eyes away from yours
diverting them to your ears
the ears that listened to my incessant cries
and heard my foolish fears

I move down to your mouth
which spoke to me only kind words
and also incompetently mimic the chirping
Of Abyssinian lovebirds

I scan over your honey-olive arm
and the smoothness of your skin
which, for warmth, among other things
I seek refuge in

I hung my head earthward
giving attention to your feet
the ones that brought you far and wide
just to let us meet

You call my name.
I glance back up and look you in the eye
those eyes were now blank and cold
I could not see you anymore, but I still try.
lost you

I want to go out
And drink coffee.

Talk about life
And kiss you.

But that is silly isn't it?
I don't like coffee much.

I'll just buy some for you
So I can watch you smile.

Then lets dance and laugh because
It's an amazing feeling to be loved.
Based off of a dream I've been having.

my heart
like a small drunk boat
between two coves
with no oars,
like the the top of a match stick
ready to be lit

my heart
like a bustard
wandering on the mine fields of regrets,
like  seagulls
lost on the fingers of
a fool poet

my heart
either will get lost on these flows
or resurrect on these ebbs

poems like no words
is my heart

love'll hit you like a piece of poetry
the time it takes to learn the meaning
is nothing compared to how it'll rattle your rib cage when your heart begs to be set free

I want to be selfish.
I want to tell you I started talking to you for a reason.
That I felt that spark-
that was no lie.
Being around you made me blush crimson,
and made my heart flutter in such a way-
that I had only felt once before.
I want to apologize-
for running away from the butterflies.
I just couldn't bear to watch them die- *again

It's simple, write me a poem
A simple poem???ñ
Yes, a simple poem about a leaf
Can you impress with a poem about something so obscure?
I believe you can
Just let your imagination take over
Let inspiration flow
Come on kids impress me
Take that leaf and make it grow
I await with interest to see what comes out of this

The words in the lines of leaves
make for better poems
than any I could
put to page.
