remember when I talked to you
and your breath smelled like wisdom
the way you looked at me
made me think you knew what was on the dark
And you took me to your world
In a single glance I was able to feel
We were in the dark
And I followed you
You had a lantern
And you walked up straight
With pride and honor
I believed in you
And I followed you
When we were out of the dark
You took me to the strangest place
You took me where people went and killed themselves
Pink and white roses
With no much color at all
You kept walking
I got lost
An old lady took me in
You came back for me
But my name was Maria now

You say you're accepting
Yet you hate people who are different
You say you're kind
Yet you exclude me
You say that you're normal
Yet no one is
You say that you're honest
Yet you tell all these lies

I read the words but
they won't sink in.
I'm looking into your eyes
but I can't see past
the anatomical details.
I'm opening my mouth
but the words are noiseless
moths with dusty wings.
I want to tell you
anything; that you mean
something.
I want to reach out but
you won't reach back.

I'm closing the door but
I can't walk away.

There is nothing inside me.

the ocean looks
so beautiful
that i forget
how to swim

and once i am
caught
within the riptide
i cannot save
myself

although now
i am not sure
that i even
want to

There was more that I never got to say.

The dance where you were jealous - well
So was I
And in the dim light of a middle school cafeteria, I wished vehemently that I
Was yours.

I'm never surprised, anymore; I even
Welcome the silence,
And the solace it brings.
Though I dreamed of a spiderweb of bruises
trickling like a drizzle down your neck
turn pale to purple in an instant --
It wasn't you I craved; it was your
Forgiveness.
But oh I loved you far more than the stars; and hated you at least half as much as I hated myself.

If my heart was a seed
And sprouted veins
That wanted to bloom
The bud would be you.
Blue petals of a Forgetmenot
That he picked
And quietly said "she loves me, she loves me not".
I would wince with each *****
In marvelous pain.
Closing in on each moment that you held the fragile stem between strong fingers.
Every bit would float away with the wind,
Casting your wishes into the sky.
When the stem is finally bare
And you thow it to the ground
I'll be left for dead,
But just know she loved you.
And as the remaining wilts
You'll be forgetting
But I will always be remembering
Hoping all your wishes come true.

Delicately run your fingers across my neck

You will find the scars

Freshly healed

From when lonely

Clawed its way out of my throat
I wonder if you
ever wore your
heart on the
sleeve
of the shirt
I stole.

Regardless,
I'm sure
that there's space
for mine.
mountain clouds surround
ancient stone walls rough
and smooth
secrets deep within
