Is just a
Jumbled mix
Of words, shaped
And shifted according
To the writer's every whim-
Lovely, gray, unexpected, cliche,
Harsh, crisp, ragged, soft, or pointed
As an
Arrowhead

The cub crawls into
The cave’s mouth, into the world
Joy of existence

Sometimes, it seems
Time drags on
And on and
On and
On
Slowly
Then slips
Away like water
Through your hands

White keys, accented with black
Dark wood, polished to a shine
Cover rolled away and back
Perfectly tuned, sound so fine

She sits at the piano
And starts to play-
Perfectly

I lack inspiration
Yet am still here, trying to write
With a strange peaceful sensation
Gazing into endless night

The clamor of attention
The cry of the crowd
This is what she wanted
Her dream, her hope, her song

The only thing that felt 'right'
Was her future as a star
But now she's finally here
And realizing she was wrong

Sometimes I sit here
and
wonder about you.

Have you come near?
Or
Have you gone away?

Do you look in the mirror
And
See how you've changed?

Are your memories clear
Or
Can you not picture me?

When you're quiet, do I appear
In
Your thoughts like you do in mine?

Am I as great a fear
To
You as you are to me?

This bubble has me trapped,
                      Suffocating, wrapped
In a blanket of fury-              
                Just let me be free

a feather-like touch
brings the scent of rain then goes
whispering away

Funny,
Loud, and
Laughing-
He's happy

Perky,
Cheerful, and
Giggly-
She's sappy

Thoughtful,
Quiet, and
Deep-
This one's smart

Creative,
Inventive, and
Colorful-
She likes art

He listens
She glistens

He plays a sport
She's on Mock Court

Every
One
Is
Some
One,
Plays
The
Part-

Enjoys
It,
Has
Fun­

Or

Conceals
A
Broken
Heart

a circuit of the planets
a measurement of time
a chance to start anew
another crumpled, used calendar
*the time since I've seen you

Best friends
(Well, until the end)

One I could trust
You listened
We laughed
We cried
It didn't matter; just together

Friendship to rust
We fought
You yelled
I stepped back
And felt light as a feather

Every time
I'd come back;
You were my
Only true friend
I shouldn't let you go

If I had a dime
For every sharp
Word we'd thrown
I'd be rich
Worth it? No

Then you disappeared
I was
suddenly free
But alone
Me, isolated

I changed and feared,
Made different
Friends
Who helped me
But it was fated

You came back
I was
Thrilled-
Time erases pain
Through and through

You tried to fill in your tracks
Left behind
But other friends
Were already there
No space for you

Best friends
(Well, until the end)

The words flow
Smoothly
Onto my paper
Flying
Into existence
Out of
Nowhere

The words slow
Eventually
The world of
thinking
Closing itself
Going
Elsewhere

She just wants them
To notice,
But when they ask
She's 'fine'

She's screaming but
Keeps going
The same act, the
Same line

Words
Flowing
Words
Growing
In my mind

Words
Slipping
Words
Dripping
Through my hands

Words
Drifting
Words
Lifting
Up and away

Words
Tumbling
Words
Fumbling
And they're gone
