read a thousand love stories,
pause, rest awhile,
read ten thousand more,
and then deny equality.

If you ask for no more than you can give,
you ask for not enough

love is imbalance not an equation,
with a single solution

love has both constants and variable factors

so you write of tribulations and tributes
so you write of lamentations and liftings

you think you are on the same page
perhaps
but do we not all read at different paces?

one of you is solid, one is dotted and dashed
one of you is straight, one is bent, forever curving

when you think you are
in balance
in the same place
in syncopation

perhaps you are for a moment
a calculus of one point on a trajectory

and you say I can only ask for what I give
and am given
and no more,
you have miscalculated

this flux
flummoxed
when the old terrain is flayed flat
but thru the windshield you see the
plateau ends, the geography unknown,

when you see unknown
when you seek the unknown
when you give from places you did not know
you had to give from
when you kiss a hand
for  twenty minutes more than than the one minute you intended
when you give more than is asked
when you ask for more than you can you think you can give
the imbalance is the only concert
the imbalance is the the only constant

how do I know this?
what are my credentials?
you are not a teenage girl,
what matters of what you know of these matters?

I am who I am
a diversity of man and manner
I am past prime and in decline
but this I know
for having failed ten thousand poem times
you must ask for more than one can give

but that's not fair!

silly one, still wretched confused,
even after one hundred
thousand poem times

you must ask of
yourself
more than you can give
and ask no less
demand no less

a body in emotion is not a body in rest
when the imbalance is too great or insufficient
then you write a poem
look in the mirror that cannot lie
and move
on
or
move
off

and begin to ask
yourself
to whom may I give myself
more than is asked
then you have finally asked
the correct solution to the
unsolvable equation
How i wish for
rainbows, magic and joy
Instead...
I struggle with life's
ups and downs
Luckily...
There are many
moments
filled with laughter
So...
Even though life
is not all
Rainbows and Magic
Love, laughter and happiness
help balance out
The frustrations, angers, and disappointments
that life sometimes
throws my way

Now...
It's just a matter
of remembering

All the love, laughter, and happiness
that comes my way
and lights my path
leading me out of the darkness

Feeling philosophical...I think (lol)
She's a strange one
And sometimes I think she likes
To play dumb
And sometimes I think she likes
To play the broken little bird
And she can twist whatever words
I dare to utter
She gives you that look, like butter
Wouldn't melt
Like all that time you spent
With her means the world
And she's a transfixing girl
She can make your heart feel alive
She'll make your soul feel numb
And I'm telling you, she's a strange one.
Thousands of doors are going
To open Today
After a Long Day
Of Sultry Dark
Slowly moving Clouds
But what it is!
As if the speed of the wind more than
A Hurricane

Extreme sound Rocking the Sky,
The Home
And the Expanding
Barren Field,
Repeatedly being Thunder Around
As far as I can See
Across the Horizon
The Rain has come down
As Cats and Dogs

Dim Light in the Room
Hope, despair shaken
Windows Open
Southern waves

In the Light of the Short
The past Knocking
On the Closed Door
To open the Wide Sky

You have sat down

Where I read
And planted my Dreams
Bringing the garden
Roses,
Marigold,
Sunflowers

Where there the moonlit
Of moonlight has
Crafted the Dreams
Like an Imagination
As if,
Unclogging Peacock's Feather

But the sudden wind
Increasing the Velocity
Light has been Extinguished
Yet the Flame Alive
But don't see my Reflection,
In the distant Glass,
In the Poetry,
In the Words

In an Angular way,
Through the Windows
Rain coming into the Limelight
Put away the Poetry
And the Dreams
As the Books of Poetry has Seemed
Like the Stones

But Yet I'm waiting,
For The Next morning
Where the Hope will Come Again
In the Shining Smile of Light

Night drifts into a sun filled day
Memories fade but never go away

Seeds blossom into the most beautiful flowers
Minds remember only sadness in the darkest hours

Oceans crash into the shores as waves
Tears are fueled by hearts set ablaze

Boys become men and girls become women
A soul must break before it can begin

Sun turns to dusk at the start of every night
Everything must go wrong before it becomes right

Helen
He stood in the doorway
watching her sleep
His hands pressed
to his chest
whispering promises
he could not keep

He stood right next to her
his hand trembling, mid air
took one step back, then another
so he was no longer there

She lay upon sheets of silk
her back a work of Art
her scissored legs and arms
flung wide,
as though she was torn apart

She waited with breath held tight
her eyes closed and lungs burning
She wanted as though
time was right
Her world was centred
with her yearning

He hesitated to touch
such fragile beauty
his encroachment in her space
seemed an impregnable fortress
so he stood back
just to stare at her face

But she had raised the portcullis
and lowered the drawbridge

He just needed to storm
the castle
and dwell forever
where she lives
after story: but he never did, he never took what he wanted, he stood outside and waited to be asked in, she eventually raised the drawbridge and shut the gate.
While walking through the fields
Along with you on no moon night
I never knew
I would be traveling all alone
One day on the same path again.
Though I was passing
Through the tunnel of darkness
I didn't fear the shadow of mine
While being with you.

Today full moon night welcomed me
With its delightful twilight
What made me fear my own shadow
I am not sure
May be the loneliness of breeze
Touched me painfully.
