Sister
Freeda Lobo Mar 2014
She assumes I don't care
And all that she does
Ends up in cruel despair.

She puts up a show
And buys me a bow
Until she feels empty, sad and low.

In a box that I chose
That smells of orchids so special
Lies the bow, like a rose.

For all that she ponders yet knows not
The times that we've spat and fought
Will remain as memories that shan't rot.

For on a pedestal she stands
In my heart, deep and within
'Cause I'm an angel in her hands.

Paradise
Freeda Lobo Jul 2014
When the world is broken
And all that lies of it
Has been taken

When all your needs
And all that you've loved
No one heeds

'Cause all you earn
You'll find in them
When around you turn

Your family, your paradise
None other, never shall be
Your kingdom in heavenly disguise.

My Daddy Strongest
Freeda Lobo May 2013
I dream of a day
Like the one I had before
In your arms I play
And cry for more.
Then gently go to sleep
Always by your chest
Wondering how do I peep
In the morning from my cradle best.
Still dreaming of those eyes
Of love and hopes ahead,
Sculpting a future that lies
Of the riches the world has said.
"To the one who would be identified,
By my name to you
She would bring to me, pride
Like leaves sparkling with dew."
I dream of a day,
The same weary eyes
Overjoyed they'll say
"How much ever she tries
To be bigger, bolder
She'll still remain my baby girl never older!"

Starry Night
Freeda Lobo May 2013
All alone on a starry night, was I
Not like I had none before
Longing for your arms around, was I
Waiting for you at the door.

My heart said it was hard
To learn that you left me
And then fell apart
Broken in anguish to be.

Love, it was, never a joke
Being with you was better than dope
Now I'm made to carry this yoke
All in vain and no hope.

All alone on a starry night, again
I stand - wiping my tears - bold
Your love shall I never regain
Your hands shall I never hold.

That Kiss
Freeda Lobo May 2013
Don’t you know what you did to me
I feel like a jellyfish when you kiss me
I ask you for more whenever I say ‘No’
And swim across the ocean of love with a varying glow!

I ripple down to pieces when you touch me
And allow my mind rather than eyes to see
I quiver, you take me in an embrace
Holding me close through this love-filled maze.

Castle of Love
Freeda Lobo May 2013
And I built it finally
A castle - so high, so magnificent
It reminded me of us
By the sea, that scent
Of our love, of our smiles
Of our never ending fights.

But then came that day
When the tide rose
Devouring my castle beautiful
Sweeping away the sands close
Everything died, everything collapsed
Under me, my castle, my love.
Freeda Lobo May 2013
Shower of sparkling rays
On my dreamy face
Tear-smudged, messy hair
Wishing you were there.

Lost in your embrace
Bewildered by your gaze
Dumb-struck I stand
When I feel you by my hand.

Do I laugh? Do I cry?
Seeing you sitting by
Pinching myself to believe
Till I can relieve.

Starry nights without you
Now I breathe all new
The shower of sparkling rays
Amazing me through the haze!

That Boy
Freeda Lobo Apr 2014
It was a broken toy
Till I met that boy
Who gave me another one
Patched up and done.

I broke it all over again
Till it made no sense nor pain
Patching, mending, restoring -
All he did, throughout spring.

We laughed, we played
Under every sun and shade.
It snowed, it glowed
Feeling it in every node.

As natural as it seemed
Never turning out the way I dreamed
Came a day, like a bird
I left town without a word.

Waiting for the day we meet
Once again in summer's heat
He'll mend my heart, that boy
With his love, sweet and coy.

Wishes
Freeda Lobo Sep 2013
Sometimes, I wish I could get through
Sometimes, I wish all this was true
Sometimes, it feels good to live this way
Sometimes, all I get are days of dismay.

Why do I seek for reasons unknown
And fall prey to feelings untold?
Why do I let people disown
And hide away the pain, standing cold?

All I wanted was me and you,
Running through fields of holly covered with dew.
All I wanted was me and you,
And each day of our lives would rise up new!

Moments
Freeda Lobo Nov 2013
The silences, the whispers
The sound of the shell
The clinkers and the clunkers
All join to tell
A tale untold, yet never forgotten
Of a girl and her beloved
Lost in the mirage of the ocean.

They sit, they stand
They walk, they glide
Vouching their love
O'er every star and tide
Holding hands in trust
Making memories right
As the world bids farewell
And sleeps a good night.

Life
Freeda Lobo May 2013
Sometimes I wonder
I wonder why I cry.
Why are there thorns,
Under pretty flowers lie?

Why are there stars
And the moon so distant
Waltzing around,
In a space, never constant?

Why does a mountain *****
And a plain so straight?
Meeting one another
With every passing date.

Why do we hate,
When there's much to love?
Now that I know,
I take this vow -

I cry, therefore I laugh
I laugh, therefore I cry.
Life it will be, I apprehend
The same battle I forge till I die.

Blue
Freeda Lobo May 2013
The night’s just got stranger,
With you inch by inch closer.
I hear your whisper,
With each breath crisper.
Lingering in your long embrace,
Trying hard to cut off your gaze
The ******, the force down below
Imagine it soft and mellow,
Tears me apart, ripping me through
I've been *****, bruised and left blue!

Mirror
Freeda Lobo Jun 2013
Broken, cracked and shattered
Little by little, in pieces it fell
My gift to you
Of love, laughter and patience
Wrapped in satin, framed in gold
Reflecting what I had for you
My trust, my ego, my self!

Goodbye
Freeda Lobo May 2013
Looking out at the sky, I see a bright white light
Flashing through the panes onto my eyes
Bringing your memories distant yet close
Forcing me to ponder about your life and mine.

Laying down here I wish we were stars
Dancing our way out through the skies
Into the galaxies, known and unknown
Over every sky.

Together we grow, together we die
Holding hands, staying close by
Getting brighter than the sun
Till we bid him 'goodbye'.

The 'ONE'
Freeda Lobo May 2013
‘I love you’ said he
And so many others
Trapped in their fantasies
I gave in to the lust
The love soon fading out
Till I find someone better
Or dream of the one to be.

And I’d wait for him
Like a bird in a cage to be freed
Like a baby wanting to be fed
Like a flower wanting to be kissed
By the wasp of love
Bringing the ultimate ecstasy of being.

And then I’d know him,
Better than everyone I've ever known
Loving more than everyone ever loved, he’d be
And so shall he be loved
He be lucky, he be precious.

Mother
Freeda Lobo May 2013
Beauty in your eyes
Love in your arms
Heaven at your feet
You are definitely the one I'd seek,
May it be in my joy or grief
Though my stay with you will be brief,
You remain with me I believe
In my heart and soul;
In making me whole
Counting every step I take
Till I'm inspired to be the one I make.

Inspiration
Freeda Lobo May 2013
Sometimes we read
Sometimes we listen
Sometimes we see
Sometimes we recall

Sometimes it's just the person next door
Sometimes it's a random person down the street
Sometimes it's a long lost friend
Sometimes it's the one we hate the most

Sometimes in the cold mornings
Sometimes in the warm nights
Sometimes in you
Sometimes in me

Sometimes for seconds
Sometimes for an eternity

To be inspired, it doesn't take long
To learn from it, sure does.
