I saw a man
leap out of his car
and rush to the one ahead
to pluck a gas cap
off the hood of the trunk
and ***** it back
into its fixture
and the driver
with shocked gratitude
leaned an obliging thumbs up
out the window
and the hero smiled and waved
returning to his car
under the hasty lunch hour stoplight
and I began to hate us
a little less.
What if,
I were vice and
You were versa
Would we meet in the middle
Or say hello in the beginning
Or we would be
Forever lost in
Goodbye
Without knowing why
A seed pod explodes,
Ears of the forest perk up,
Mirth in fertile earth.
She loved him
with such hate
hidden in her
inner darkness.
unaware of this
complex affair
he hated her
with much love,
darkly disguised.

Between them
love and hate,
lost what once
distinguished both.
Instead of keeping
black and white
separate,like milk
away from poison
the two  were
mixed up,made
in to a paste,
that  was smeared
in every single affair.

Darkness had an
affair,a chapter
shameful, with light,
It overturned what
once marked  everything!
Love and hate, mixed up
without , care and suffer
not knowing what hits them

Bars

I've only got one bar
on my phone and there's only
one more between here and home.
Ten dollars in my pocket may as well
be a thousand. Like a penny
in the fusebox, I could make it last
until the lights go out. There's a cowboy
band playing. A wooden Indian
by the door. I don't think he listens
to their stories anymore. He's quiet
on the subject. He's quite an object
of curiosity. Instead of two-stepping
all night long, maybe I should take
that Indian home. Use the last bar
to call Coleen. Tell her to put a ***
of cowboy coffee on. We'll tell stories
of our own. Sing songs in the old way
about better days when we were young.

You look into her eyes
And you see the stars.
A whole galaxy untold.
Her heart, the sun--
Radiant, warm, good.
From her lips, a whisper of truth:
a simple "I love you."
And within you stirs all the glory
And splendor of the unknown.

Lucy kissed a jawbone
bye beneath a diamond sky

2.8 million years
and a gazillion tears ago

That's a lot of sorrow

for a man
kinda like me.

Thanks, Creek.
Find me where eyes can't take you.
In blind darkness
feel out my heart and soul.
