Medusa
you returned as you left
sure-foot fleet & elegant

black eyes see all and one
you always saw everything

perspectively right or wrong
we two were dangling

precipice arighted you
found us to be true

we won the day

La, la, la
The red sea drifts
On tumultuous rifts
Aging tank subsists
On what's left in the wreckage
Purple reflections
Seen on oily surfaces
& the sky combines
Its blue tones with
The contents raging
& stewing'
In its hungry belly

Life Boat
 Apr 2019 Dylan Jones
Nyx
I float in a boat
In a raging black ocean
Low in the water
With no where to go
The tiniest lifeboat
With people I know

Cold, clammy, and crowded
The people smell desperate
We'll sink any minute
So someone must go
The tiniest lifeboat
With the people I know

Everyone's pushing
Everyone's fighting
Storms are approaching
There's nowhere to hide
If I say the wrong thing
Or I wear the wrong outfit
They'll throw me right over the side

the sun is radiating,
the birds are chirping,
the dogs are barking.
A man walks by and says hello.
Music is playing

and just for a second,
the most minute insignificant fraction of time,
everything is okay.

I used to be a mind reader
  but I gave it up
No longer feel the need to know
  what’s really being thought

With me you share
  the weight of your heart
and the flight of your soul

No need to pre-think
  what you think
because you tell me all

I could never love you,

the way people think I can

I love you in many ways,

complex ways, simple ways, hard ways

but never the way people think I can.

I love you as much as the universe loves her stars,

I love you as much as the rain hitting your bare skin.

but never in the way people think I can.

They think I can only love someone

lightly, softly, friendly, platonically

I love you as Alexander the Great loved Hephaestion.

Secretly, deeply, intensely.
This was originally supposed to be a haiku, now, i think it's a free verse but, to my knowledge i can't remember the correct term.
This poem is about a love that is secret and of the same gender, that is all I will explaok

Piano placed in,
Empty fields of sunflowers,
Bright yellow caress,

Your beautiful skin almost aligning,
Fears keep multiplying,
Wind shifts,

Our souls forever entwined,
In the fields of our minds,
Sunflowers and Pianos
Playing with a Haiku format and this was the outcome.
the razor edge
of living sharp and free
is when the roses lose their petals,
the thorns are all i can see
i tried to buy a heart across the street,
but the man there said new hearts don't come cheap.
