Or will I slip away unnoticed
Like I always am
When I'm around you...

He captivated me with his words
I am a poet
And words are my weakness
His words were alluring
he made me believe
Because I am a poet
When I write or say something
it comes from the deepest
of my heart.
And he allured me with his words
Then I realized
Some people abuse poetry.
And it broke my heart
Because I learned to love him
And because I am a poet.

Each time you come you mend me
Each time you go you break me
You keep coming and going
I keep mending and breaking

Can you stay if you wanna stay?
Or go if you wanna leave?
I can settle for mending
Or breaking
But never in between.

He said he loves me
He sees forever in my eyes
But he was too afraid
To jump into the void
And take a leap of faith

I knew I love him
And eagerly
I jumped into the void
All alone.

It wasn't enough that he loved me
And saw forever in my eyes
I knew right then
I have to rise up
Pick up what was broken

Forever is such a long time
To be spent with the wrong person.

It's not the tiny little butterflies
Flying 'round inside my tummy
It's not the light that flashes
Whenever you smile at me

All those are physical
Passing and ephemeral

Love is when I love you
Even if I've seen
The darkness that you have within
And still my face lights up
Whenever you're around me.

Even when I've seen your flaws
And I'd still smile
Open my arms
And wrap you in my embrace

The cloud whispers love to the mountain
As the mountain reaches for the sky
In an ardent longing
Painful and sweet.
