I was beautiful once.

No lines creased my face,
No grey streaked my hair;
My eyes were bright,
My voice was loud.

I used to dance;
To sing
And command every ear to listen.

Yes, I was beautiful,
But every fire has to burn away.
You say that i don't know you,
Or know of anything you're going through..

You say that i don't really love you
Or care about you
Because i say really sad things about myself and can't seem to be truthfully happy for you
But i've never loved anyone to the point where they became all i cared about, and though i can't be happy for you, i care enough to try to

You say that i don't know what the real world is like, or how harsh life can be
But I'm the one with the dark past and depression, forever catching up to me
I'm the one who lost a father in a war that could not possibly have been won
I know what it's like to lose people who mean everything,
Because i've been losing you and that's as harsh as anything

You say you're not pretty, you think sometimes i'm beautiful
Well let me tell you if you weren't in any way, as thought provoking and as breath taking as you are,
Would i really waste my time on all these poems for you?

You say that i don't know you..
But last year your favourite colour was turquoise, you wanted orchids at your future wedding, (which i may un-invite myself to) your favourite animal was the great panda bear,
Your secret talent was impersonating perry the platypus and you took 27 showers a day and drank posh tea, oh and you loved long hair.

Okay so now i don't know you so well
But i knew you,
I knew you more than time could tell

But now you're just a stranger.
The pretty girl with short hair
I cried
find me at the bottom
in the disorder
i'm just stuck in this spot
forgive me if i'm ever on my knees
you are a cliffhanger ending
and i'm the one who doesn't know anything
you're making it hard for me
i'm anticipating
til I fall asleep
please don't lose hold of me
i'm not a lost cause
what you've given me is more than i can say
wish i could explain
i know i lose my heart so easily
tell me when you feel ready
sooner or later
i'll stay right here
till you're right here
Except for the title, this poem was written using only lyrics from the artist, Lights.
She leans over the stick,
Hefting her full weight and thumping
     --step by step--
across the room.

Once, she used to gallop lightly.
She ran track,
             played basketball.
She always assumed that life would bring her
marvelous deeds,
That time would equate to glory and fame.
But the clock ticked the minutes away.
             Days passed,
                 Years flew by.

Glory and fame never came.

Instead, age crippled her once lithe body.
And the deeds she accomplished were wondrous only to her own
             Failing
                 Eyes.
For she rejoiced every time she made it,
--step by step--
Cane in hand,
             Across the room.
A Throwback High School Poem
Love,
scary and beautiful
painful yet pleasing
so many emotions
im yours for the keeping.
So confusing
and so unreal
By your side
my wounds start to heal.
I love your kisses
I love your touch
sometimes I think I care
a little too much.
My heart is yours and yours is mine
this poem is coming to an ending
but our love will conquer time.
a poem i wrote a long time ago
We are born
And then
We die
Its simple
But yet
We fear life
And we fear death
*Why?
