☆☆♡♡♡ HELLO POETRY ♡♡♡☆☆

Thank you all so much for your support of my work! This was such a pleasant surprise!
I wish I could thank each and every one of you who is commenting and responding to this piece. Unfortunately things are happening at my home which are beyond my control. My dad wasn't feeling well. He's better now but he still has a lump in his right cheek. He had had cancer at the base of his tongue and this is in the same area. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes! They are greatly appreciated!

I'm just putting everything in God's hands.

I am not spring
frost thaws eternally
from shallow-rooted fronds
tenuous and unbound
susceptible to wind's constant round
battering the living flat to ground
sodden, smell of decay all around
time is fleeing
these shoulder seasons
with all their restless reasons
yet to unfold in you
sun-soaked glade
I need your rays
to germinate

Borrowed light
Man harnessed flame
a torch in the dark.

A way to see
be seen
a shared reality.

The way is clear
all doors open
translucent mind.

.

It’s better than chocolate cake
drenched in whipped cream
A day off to sleep in
almost until noon
A warm summer day
near a slow moving stream
The stars in the sky
and a smiling moon

The juiciest steak
prepared medium rare
Seeing your team
win the championship
Watching a kite
as it floats in the air
Making a milkshake
and taking a sip

A trip to the beach
with a cooler of beer
Skiing the slopes
on a fresh coat of snow
Expecting rain
but then finding it clear
It’s so much better
I want you know

In case you wonder
what all of this means
What you now see
in the phrases above
Nothing, not even
my wildest dreams
Could ever be better
than feeling her love

The ***** wind peeping through my windows
Distracting me to notice him
Caressing me delicately
To take me out for a date of wings

The hot sun sending me arrows of rays
Distracting me to notice him
Warming me softly
To take me out for a date of fire

But the moon
Smiling like an innocent child
Distracting him to notice me
And take me for a date of candle light

the setting sun glows crimson over distant hills
people enjoy the balmy temperatures
sip their mojitos and manhattans
anticipating finger food and tapas
chatting with friends and neighbors

not everybody notices
the folding blossoms of the garden flowers
or the sweet evening songs of birds
the daring hedgehog venturing forth
    to look for food
the smell of honeysuckle gaining force
    under the rising moon

the beauty of our nature
often gets talked away in conversations
reduced to just a pleasant ambiance
that loosens our tongues

in our obsession to communicate
we tend to overlook the soft magnificence
the world presents to us in dusky evening hours

The arms of the trees
Pluck a banjo for the man
Hid on his knees
His Instrument's fan

Sets the stars a-twinklin'
If you have a chance
Watch the clouds dosey doe
Watch mountains dance

A saguaro he plays on
The spoons and the saw
The wind blows at tune
On harmonica!

Brighter than street lights
Moonbeams cut like a knife
Head like a melon
Larger than Life

Yep... the moon plays a banjo
Orion the fiddle
Owls they play metal string
The cat's in the middle

Playin' the drums
Just as loud as you please
Yep... the moon's playin' banjo
With the arms of the trees!

I know I wasn't going to be back until tomorrow. But I went back on my porch and saw the moon rising over the trees and it looked for all the world like the trees held the banjo and the moon was the head of a man! It made me feel so much better to be able to see that. I just had to share with you.

All your prayers are so appreciated. There are no words to describe how much. Your prayers went to the very Throne of God.

LOVE YOU ALL!

Harmonies caressed my heart
in soft serenades of
whispering concertos
on the strings of my deepest desires

Acoustic symphonies,
performed on a cappella breezes
in perfectly tuned emotions,
echoed upon my longing skin

Piano compositions
sprinkled with stardust
shimmered before my enchanted eyes
in ivory colored wishes

As my mind thought back to
something I had recently read,
“A smile is worth a million melodies”
finally understanding its meaning ~

for when she smiled, there was music . . .
the most beautiful I have ever heard
Inspired by a comment recently left on one of my poems

I would not love
For I would not know
what love was
