What do you see?
I see a crooked nose & asymmetrical features everywhere
What do you see?
I see saggy ******* & ***** freckles everywhere
What do you see?
I see a fat boy who’s trying so hard to breathe
What do you see?
I see a skinny girl who looks like a stick

What do i see?
I see a guy who made his single-mother proud by getting a degree
What do i see?
I see a lady who dances like she owns the world
What do i see?
I see a boy who runs knowing he’s better than this
What do i see?
I see a girl working at her age to let her siblings eat

What you think you see
Is what others seen

The best in you.
You scrutinized on what you are
**Others perceived on what you've done.
Everyone has insecurities that they tried to hide or deny.
Most of them exposed themselves to be deprived on how or what they look like. Sometimes we just forget to just be ourselves.  To be human.

"I'm afraid of the dark. There's no one to guide me anymore"

"I think it's time you should be your own guardian, because in this wonderful world, my friend, no one cares. No one will ever care either. You should be independent. You must learn to survive, independently. The world is a deep sea, full of sharks. If you don't survive, you're not given a second chance. Because in the end, no one ever cares, my friend. No one cares."

His name purred on her lips;
She loved the way it
Rolled around on her tongue,
Loosened her vocal chords

Every time she said
his name aloud,
It felt as though she were
Becoming more and more
Well versed in him;
His character,
His very being

I've been collecting dust on the corners of my lips
Until the day you touched my
Hands, knees, shoulders, hips
Parts of me I kept in the dark
So no one can see how easy it is
To find me
And you found this
Mess that I am, that's left of me
And fixed it effortlessly
I allowed your existence
To staple itself into mine
Beautiful, tragic, perfect
Salvaged from my own anxieties
Cradled in the home you built with your arms
Around my waist.
I fell
I kept on falling
And you caught me, timely
Now I'm collecting stardust on the corners of my lips
Wishing you'd never tire
Of holding my hands, knees, shoulders, hips.
Dusty & rusty. Words are fleeing. Need inspiration.

Daedalus' words were just another
Example of reverse psychology.

There is no sun to melt the wax
Enforcing your wings.

Flight is a victory in- and of itself;
Freedom, however brief.

Never fear to rise too high.
Those who didn't rose safely.

You would have been just fine
Without the warnings;

Only you and the Sea knowing
The escape you chased was

Within
Her.

Have another round, boys,
The time's on me.
Use the good time
While you can, boys,
In morning you will see.

Don't ponder vain dreams lads,
They thicken in your blood:
Leave it on the rocks, sir,
For there it will inspire,
For certain something's sensed.

          Keep me alive
          Don't let me die
          Tonight.
          If I stayed at home
          I wouldn't be
          Too tight tonight.
          Sensing delight in drinks
          Tonight's by me.

Let your insights falter,
Slip another disc.
Stay seated where you are boys,
Don't bother to resist.
Thrill your lungs
With tapered incense,
The myrrh of barroom bliss.

          While rambling through
          The ale and lager
          We remain serene,
          And all too soon
          I lie alone
          In sober company.

The little bird was trapped
Behind the gilded cage
The butterfly was trapped
Inside the mason jar
The firefly was caught
From his home
And they patiently wait
Hoping and praying...
And then one day
A girl with gentle hands
Opens the little bird's cage
And releases him
With her pretty smile
She says, "Be free, little one!"
A youthful boy that same day
Open's the butterfly's jar
And with one final look at her dazzling beauty
He softly whispers, "You're free at last."
Another girl that same day
Opens the jar the firefly lives in
Trapped inside the walls of glass
She opens the lid and says,
"Fly away, little firefly, fly away!
You are free at last."

Suddenly
Our struggle
Matches the effort
Dealing with troubles.
Youth will wane,
Years duly wax, and
Promises are forgotten songs
With hollow echos
Of Tomorrow;
Now that you're gone.

If I heard you say
Let's steal away
Tomorrow;
Let's drop the pretence
Of lies;
Let the missing years
Fade to memory's mist,
And put to rest
The best years
Of our lives.

I wouldn't ask,
But let tomorrow's
Light come soon.
It's a day
Ahead of me;
I'd look forward
To midnight
And to noon,
Savouring every hour
In between.

I will wish
Today away;
Say good-bye
To yesteryears.
To all their fears,
And late night sweats
And tears, and
Embrace tomorrow's
Promising surprise.

Let's steal away
Like looters,
Thieving all
That's left.

Maybe if I step on
enough flowers
or break
enough
hearts
I just might forget
I'm made of broken parts

Roll the windows down
Because it's getting harder to breathe
With your mouth on my neck
And my hips on yours

Roll the windows down
Because it's fogging up now
And it's getting harder to see
Who's coming our way

Roll the windows down
So they can hear me scream
As you push me down
And I pull you in

I live for these stolen nights
With your arms, strong, around me
And your kisses, hungry, to feed me
Your voice, ecstasy, to calm me

But daylight is coming
It's too soon, I know.

We have to roll the windows up
I can't let them see me
In this stranger's car

A bunch of hyenas,
They circled around,
Weapons in hand,
Sinister and proud,

Stopped in their tracks,
Tension in the air,
A child witness,
They didn't care,

A quick escape,
No route back,
Cowardly *******,
Begin their attack,

Prone position,
Time stands still,
Screaming sisters,
A summers chill,

Running away,
From where he lies,
Blood stained jacket,
Traumatic cries,

Police arrive,
Crowds disperse,
Family gather,
Expecting the worst,

A road to recovery,
Their day in court,
Sentence given,
Tragically short,

Time heals,
Scars fade,
Memories remain,
History replayed,

A twist of fate,
On a dark day,
Found him love,
That took it away,

Moving on,
His family grew,
Childs laughter,
Pulled him through,

This family man,
Can always walk tall,
He took on his troubles,
And conquered them all.
A True story

Winters Soldier

A winters night, into the cold,
The Queen's servant, looking old,
Just ten years since Iraq..
Ripped cloth upon his back.

Paper sheets, and plastic bags,
Warming body holding rags ,
His bottle lacking wine..
Drinking passed the time,

Daily grind, passing by,
No one stops, wonders why..
..His lips, are a shade of blue,

Tight fist clutched to chest,
A hero soldier, came to rest,
Upon commuter street..
..look down beneath your feet...

..Yes you!

A winters soldier, died alone,
Buried deep, below the stone,
Tortured by the war..
By the scars nobody saw.

If only you had not ignored,
The dying soldier there before,
Then maybe we can save...
..The wounded and the brave.
