The world today is a massive stage
We're all two-bit actors with parts to play
Some better than others along the way
I see an Oscar in your future but not today

Some people act like they don't have enough
And they could better pretend if they had more stuff
With talent out the window they rely on luck
But if luck is all you've got you'll never have enough

Some act like they're on permanent holiday
Party all night and sleep all day
Don't take any advice that comes their way
You'll never get that Oscar if you act that way

While some are naturally born to play the lead
Others suffer daily to even be seen
In the part that they play in their B-movies
Where before the end credits roll the crowds up and leave

And those that do play the lead
Always seem to be envied
But do we really see what it is they see
And don't we all have the same basic needs

With so many actors out there you've got to stay on top
Play your part with all your heart give it all you've got
People are always watching whether you know it or not
Life's light is always shining, you just need to stand in its spot

As daily we take to this worlds massive stage
Playing with all of our hearts the parts that we play
Some better than others along the way
Where that Oscar is looming but not today

Dreamer
The crowd fades away
As chords in every melody
Rings in our ears,
And shivers downs in our body
It vibrates in every muscle
A musical fusion
Almost everything didn’t matter
It’s you, me and the beating rhythm
The graceful posture
The sway of every gesture
It’s a motion adventure.

Feeling the adrenaline pulsing through
Pervading the entity
Beating rhythm pounding, it electrifies the body
into graceful art, emancipating the sound of the music
Captivating the mind, liberating the young, reckless soul
covertly hidden inside an indifferent exterior

A freeing beauty
of movement to the rhythm
A therapy to the mind and body.
Dancing to the music,
feeling every tune
every beat
every breath of every movement,
with Explosions of Euphoria
how about that! :) I'm so proud of us, we did it! I'm having that totally awesome post-poem feeling you know? So incredibly honored to be working with you, dear Pax :) We did a fantastic job, woot woot! (((hug))))

Dad made a kite
Out of paper and wood
And a white, ripped up sheet for a tail.
We all watched with wonder when without any wind
He could make his kite rise up and sail!
The trick, he would tell us
Is to run just a bit, then let the string play out just so.
There is wind up above us that you cannot see
It will make the kite rise up and go.

Up went his kite
High up over the trees
And soon it was up with clouds.
It dipped, skipped and twirled as he tightened his rein
“It’s DANCING!” we shouted out loud!
The kite, he would tell us
Responds to your touch, don’t hold it too loose or too tight.
Be forgiving, yet firm, let it fly by itself
And most times it will turn out all right.

Dad gave the kite
To the youngest child there,
And the rest of us waited our turn.
The kite soared, then collapsed; our confidence too
Dad taught; we attempted to learn.
Life, he would tell us
Is like flying a kite, you hold on but you cannot control.
Don’t let a failure or lack of success
Stop you from reaching your goal.

Be like the kite
Reach as high as you can
Set your goals high, and dance with the clouds!
Respect and remember the wind you can’t see.
It’s your Faith that will make others proud.
Faith, he would tell us
Is the courage to fly, and belief in a Presence unseen.
But most of all Faith is the strength to go on
When your kite gets stuck high in a tree.

“The times they are a-changing”
Guess I’m growin’ older fast
Had a **** good time one summer,
But summers never last.

“Ah, but I was so much older then”
Rip van Winkle shared his drink with me
Woke up; thought we were younger
But the village disagreed.

“Like a rolling stone”
I never stayed on the top of any hill
Got no regrets to mention
But I prob’ly sometime will.

“Blowin’ in the wind”
Seeds from a weeping willow tree
Never knowin’ where they might end up
But it’s the same **** thing with me.

“All I really want to do”
Before I end up in the dirt
Is beg everyone’s forgiveness
But there’s too many I hurt.

“A hard rain’s a-gonna fall”
For now it’s beatin’ on my head
Soon it’ll pound down on my grave
But by that time I’ll be dead.

“Long and wasted years”
Came along and passed me by
Yeah I kinda miss the summer
But I ain’t had time to cry.

“I wear dark glasses to cover my eyes”
Can’t believe the things I’ve seen
Still, I’d pretend that I was younger
But Dylan’s on AARP magazine.

Just wanted to re-post and say Happy Birthday to Bob Dylan!!

The first line in each stanza is a title of, or line from a Bob Dylan song.  A true poet.  So "Growin' Old" is dedicated to Bob Dylan and all the rest of us who are old enough to get AARP magazine!  Hope you enjoy!

I* leapt and dove into the depths of indigo
Night spilled carelessly onto my sky
Darkness smothered with tides of indigo
I almost drowned and whimpered a cry
Grappled with the vagueness of indigo
Out of the *blue
, I'd emerge with a heavy sigh

"Daddy" "Daddy"
"Watch me" "Watch me"
As she jumps hands on the settee
She jumps higher each time,
I want to be a cricket,
I want to
Hop,
Skip,
Jump

Bounce up and down
But they jump well, but not high enough
"Daddy" "Daddy"
"Watch me" "Watch me"
I'm a bunny,
Bounce, bounce, bounce*
I bounce higher this time,
But the whiskers make me sneeze
And I really don't like carrots,
"Daddy" "Daddy"
"Watch me" "Watch me"
I'm a kangaroo
Boing,
Boing,
Boing
Look at me go look at me
Fly through the air, and land
Once again on the ground,
"Daddy" "Daddy"
"Watch me" "Watch me"
I loved being a Kangaroo but it was too hot,
I want,
I wish,
I bounce
In to space, the biggest jumper in
The know universe
I want to be an astronaut
I want to jump from
Earth
To the
Moon,
I want to hop along asteroids
Like I was playing hop scotch
"Floating endlessly"
One jump, two jumps
Look at me float, look at me daddy
I jumped on the moon,
"Little lady"
"My little jumping bean"
"You must learn much"
"Do good at school"
Then you can use your amazing bouncing talent.
Use it to jump from here to there,
But my little princess your only five,
So much time to
Bounce,
Skip,
Jump
Upon everything you see, the moon
Can wait till you grow up,
*"My utterly amazing little jumping bean"
Based on how much my little lady loves to Jump :)

"No matter what happens, we'll never be strangers."

Days like this i wonder how you're doing.
Surely we could send each other a text,
but it becomes archaic.

You and I.
We used to talk under the stars.
Laughing till our faces turn blue.

I kept all your gifts.
A polaroid of us.
Memories.
Buried in a box.
Safe, like how you used to make me feel.

You came up to me.
Like a dream.
The kind that always leaves.

5 years later,
You left me broken.
Like a record.

I watched you grow.
Like a lotus flower that grows out of the mud.
Slowly blossoms and rise above the muddy surface.

Now.
Im left with only memories of us.
Stored away in the back of my mind.

So nights like this.
When i need you most.
I reminisce all the good memories we had.
With tired eyes, tired mind, tired soul.

Just so you know.
If ever,in future you need me.
You don't have to call me.
Or drop a text.

Just run to me.
Like a kid running to the finishing line.
With arms wide open.
I welcome you.

I remember the day I first saw you.
You send shivers down my spine.
You're attractive.
But too loud.
Too showy.
Just screaming for every girl's attention.

Yesterday,i saw you again.
You were sad and discontented.
And no longer loud and screaming for attention.
I grew selfish out of fear.

Often I find myself trying to relive the moments again.
But it will never be the same.
So I hold you so close to me.
Afraid of being alone,
I couldn't let you go.
Now.
You're nowhere near.

May I adore you darling.
For as long as I can.
May we light the nights afire
and curb the day's hot sun.
To remember the passion of our love.

Thoughts spin softly toward the unsayable Impossible to resist like the city's dark glamour or a wicked woman's kiss
Each turn of her face an eclipse giving birth
Each cigarette a torch held high
Only to have died all gorgeous and sad
As the city and abyss stare each other down

~

One spoon at a time they feed
the morning horizon
Soft offerings of color
picked ripe from the vine

~Cantaloupe dreams~

A small slice of moon
the dawn’s crescent smiles on me
with a Cheshire grin
cocked slightly to the side

~Plum pudding blankets~

Suspended above life, moving slowly
but coming of the day
as alarms break the solitude
nestled in down pillows

~Raspberry whispers~

Singing the scent
of the fresh sunrise dew
on wishes coated in sparkling splendor
and footprints beyond the gate

~Nectarine blessings~

Sweet on my lips
beneath an orchard arbor
I hold you close of my morning
and taste the bounty of your love
An old one

.          IF I WERE A POET

                             The
                     First stanza
                     would be a
       magnatic attic captivating
            Elegant architects of
                     iridescence
                        Vividly
       propelling pupils to edges
                 Of the schleras
        Compelling pens to pages
                    of new eras

            IF I WERE A POET

                                       The
                              Second
                 Stanza would
             Mirror Zues's
          spear slicing through
        tears drowning in clouds
         striking fields of pens
                        Egniting the
                    capsules of
                 Variegated
               Lands

            IF I WERE A POET

                            The
                     Last stanza
             would sail summers
           tame winters bathe in
         springs of autumn praise
           deeds of the monarchs
           reigning over raining
           rainbows nurturing the
         clouds planting wings on
       the ground giving free will
to plants to seed the sky
           with warmth and love
                of nature's heart.

You lie naked beside me

You tell me you love me
You tell me you're proud of me
You say you'll never leave me
..................................................................
But you did leave me
But you hid me from all
But you never loved me

You lied naked beside me
