Way over due for a walk on the beach
Politics, finances, health worries won't reach
Just the smell of the salt water breeze
The sound of the waves crashing
Settling the heart in an unwinding ease
Breath easy, calm down
Let oneself go
A glorious state of peace
Settle the toes into the sand
No need for stress of frowns
How relaxing it would be
Hearing seagulls squawk
No one else in the world except me

In China, towering spires of green
with pine trees, the fog that hovers
breaks lucid in shades of mauve
blue flame of night's dawn
gives birth to stars, the skies
white snow of clouds,
the evening cranes
that fly above.

shining sheet
satin chiffon scarves
beaded curtain of
aquamarine
and
chrystophase

who knew
beauty could wreak
such chaos?

overturned dumpsters
blocking the road
and a
matress floating down the street!

sirens shrieking
and cars flooded in roadways

some silly motorists
will be swept away in the washes

MONSOON MADNESS!

but agave bloom's
pale yellow petals
the color of an
old wedding gown
drenched with dew
sparkling
like
diamonds
with
the
parting
curtains

the sun cannot be

restrained

We just had an incredible rainstorm!
All of what I said above really happened!
It was the hardest rain we've had in years. The June rainfall was the highest it's been for 50 years! The second highest since 1932.

I PRAYED TO GOD DURING
OUR HEAT WAVE FOR RAIN!!!

WOW!! DID HE DELIVER!!!

I took a picture of the Agave flower.
It is now my site photograph.

And the double rainbow!

I remember
        the rain, the
way it
       fell in
waves I
             tried to
cling to, press my
           lips into
its deep blue
as if that
           might make
things new but it
went on
           undisturbed
in
its path
towards Earth,
           a mystery
concealed
inside
         every drop
that
I was powerless
       to stop.

on the verge of wilderness
imminent silence*

welcome
the sun stroking
peaks aglow
the thundering falls
mist-kissed rain
the solitude
so rarely reached
too often breached

stillness loosen
untamed words
in the native tongue
before thoughts
unspoken
became yours
mine
ours

to the wild
bear these
cryptic symbols
scrawled on
my halved heart
tokens of longing
succor
for the lost

I potted your healing purple verbena
comforting scarlet geranium
never will forget you
pink carnation
the roots were dry
so I added new soil
watered them good
they'll survive

your granddaughter
brought them here
along with "Phil"
the ancient philodendron
he's taken up residence
close to her bed
his elephant ears
spread wide and listening

I thought you would
be pleased to know
she loaded plants
until the car was full
that she did find
a bit of solace
in the garden
you left behind
* Plants and flowers have symbolic meaning in many cultures.  My daughter brought home these plants from her grandmother's house after she passed.

Purple Verbena: *Healing, Happiness, Love*
Scarlet Geranium: *Comfort, Protection*
Pink Carnation: Carnations in general - *a mother's undying love*.  Pink Carnations specifically - *I will never forget you*
Philodendron: called the "loving tree".  "Phil" is an Elephant Ear Philodendron.

Interesting that she picked these from an entire garden, isn't it?

Our Strawberry Moon,
Now waxed in June,
Brings crops to bloom;
Like a balloon:
All gone too soon.
Eleven more to follow.

Shall I talk of Mistress Moon
Or her sisters the stars
Etching their endless orbits
On the black of space and night

Or should I talk of Brother Sun
Who brings the daytime on his own
Making the unseen seen again
And opening flowers to smiles

Without the dark of night
Separated from the bright of day
Our world would just exist
In a constant shade of grey

familiar afternoon tapestries of lavender

Orb Weavers balloon warm currents
with mysterious loom , June Pecan groves

i get lost in the time
when i'm tossin' a line
all of my problems are lost in my mind

i don't need a big lake
to make my great escape
i sit on the bank and wait for the take

you know it's a sight
when my line goes tight
i set the hook and i am in for a fight

i get lost in the time
when i'm tossin' a line
all of my problems are lost in my mind
Caught a 24 inch bass, along with a lot of 15-22 inch bass yesterday. I also caught a lot of sunfish. Woop!
She is the first warmth of the new day as morning dew envelopes my exposed , quickened skin
A curious glance toward blue ambiance shelving mustering
prose to the God given natural holiday
Wildflower fragrant recovery , echoes of worked Earth , White Hereford
relaying the Dawn call to order
The business of man , plant and animal unfurled
Days of songbird early cacophony brought to steady relief
across pearl homesteads , cattle trails and country lanes
