Silhouettes, shapes,
  clouds backlit
   by a distant sun
  rising slowly
      in the east,
   Cantaloupe swatches,
       painting introductions
    of a desirable dawn,
  drape the sky,
    illuminating my heart
       to another
          wondrous day
                *with you
Good morning Beautiful

Sun
The Sun’s beaming smile
Bathes the plains with gold.
Lord of the heavens,
Circled by your sons
We call planets,
Your searing heat
Keeps us warm
And well.

I love the summer
With those shiny beaches:
Radiant reflections
Kissed by sky-blue surf.

Sun, you are a surge of nuclear bombs
Devastating the darkness,
Destroying the frosts of outer space.

Blindingly beautiful
Yet you redden evening clouds:
Red sky at night delight
Indeed.

Ball, orb, sphere, call you what you will,
Sol if you prefer.
The pale moon mimics you
Even blocks you at times,
But you are never eclipsed for long.

The sky is your playing field
Though the starry crowd is hidden
From your fiery light.

See the sky brighten
Just before dawn,
Then witness the birth
Of another fine day.

Sitting near the window
On a mellow morning
There’s a palpable eagerness
To wash away the summer heat
The nearest tree branches sway
In anticipation to welcome the rain
I can feel leaves talking to each other
Sudden gust of cool air touches me
Making me aware of my presence
May be the rains are on their way
The tree branches do an ecstatic dance
I look up at the accumulating clouds
Suddenly the sky opens up in happiness
Sound of rain is like the sweetest lyrical notes
There’s flowing elegance in the air
Rains wash away the last bit of gloominess
Here my heart wants to get drenched
I finally join the trees and birds
And get the taste of refreshing shower
Rains are here and there is hope writ all over

she comes for water
from the wild
dove of desert
nature's child

she of sweetness
plumage neat
buff and ecru
to my feet

she is pure
sleek of line
her's perfection
in design

she's so close
I see her eyes
she's not afraid
of my great size

curious
she looks at me
a wild thing
completely free

what have her
ancients
done and seen?
Manchu Pichu
Inca kings?

missionaries
born in Spain
conquistadors
who've
come for gain

****** men
so brutal, bold
slaughter natives
for their gold

****** in "marriage"
Aztec queens
so now their
bloodlines
are rarely seen

i think on this
Oh! Poorest love!
so much like them
my

Inca dove

I was so touched by
this beautiful creature

she was shy at first
then came right to my feet

We leave water out for the
desert animals
and she is familiar with me now
so she gets really close

Much as the trusting natives
of these continents
came to the Spanish
They were slaughtered.
And could not even keep their own
bloodlines.

Fortunately for the little dove
I am gentle
But this is a lesson
BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TRUST

Summer sands swim with them;
Their patchwork towels
Crowd them in.
Lying, shining in the sun,
On their bellies
With wet sand bums.
Shades of innocence
On their faces;
On their backs
With fleshy dunes,
Tanning lines
That start at noon.
They test the shoreline
Every so often,
To cool their curves
In Great Lakes waters.
The palpable heat
Rises in waves
From the hot, hot bods
On these Great Lakes babes.

In the name of love

We see light
In every dark

The world seems to be angry...rebelling
Waters rise, and flood the surfaces
The earth opens its mouth and just swallows
Skies are turning darker
Some areas never see light
Thunder gets to be louder,
Lightnings are fiercer,
It's not surprising when they spew fire,
People die fast, some old, some very young
Babies are born by the second
Their futures unknown,
Their safety compromised
Not a pleasant scenario
And yet, we still look up to the Heavens
There is love...there is hope.

When we are in dire straits,
When nothing, or no one can be swayed,
Some light, or somebody
Will pave the way towards a resolution
Or a compromise to start on.
Amidst a tumultuous crowd,
There is space found
There is air to breathe
We pray
We make peace rule the heart and mind
Ahead...and behind,
Because of love
Every hurdle could be overcome,
Things would be fine!

On a morning after the storm
When the gray sky refuses to become white,
Somehow, a little sun tries to peep with a shine,
To smile... shyly on us.

In every dark
We see light

In the name of love.

Concealed amid the Summer green
As stars await their turn to shine
The thrush sings thrice his song unseen
And we would like to hold back time

As stars await their turn to shine
We want his song to never stop
And we would like to hold back time
As another cork we pop

We want his song to never stop
We hope for shooting stars up high
As another cork we pop
Watch nature's fireworks in the sky

We hope for shooting stars up high
The thrush sings thrice his song unseen
Watch nature's fireworks in the sky
Concealed amid the Summer green
A pantoum poem consists of 4 or more stanzas.
Each stanza has an ABAB rhyme pattern.
The 2nd and 4th line of each stanza is re-used as the 1st and 3rd line of the next stanza.
The pattern goes on for as long as you like until the last stanza, where the 2nd line and 4th line are re-cycled from the first stanza. The first line of the poem becomes the last line, and the 3rd line of the poem is repeated as the 2nd line of the last stanza.
Summer heat burnt
raised eyebrow
there’s no water
says the roof’s crow.

Filled are the ponds
dried weeded
forgotten bonds
pleas unheeded.

Everywhere searched
not a drop to drink
feeble throat parched
on the death’s brink.

Pleads the crow begs
I cannot wait
with little eggs
waits my mate.

Weeps my soul
don’t stand aloof
keep a small bowl
water on roof.
