Two minutes to midnight.
All my windows open to the gentle
Scents of Summer, and the invation
Of winged insects drawn

Towards the single candle
On my living room glass table.
It's as if a pine stripper is dancing
On my lawn,

All perfume and movements that
Sound like breeze and innocent
Lust.
I want to make love to the outside.

Be inside it. Give something back to
These two magical months between
Winters, and at the same time
Worship; move with tears in my eyes

Within optimal actual love.
I smell green; hear dark blue; look
Into the sunset iris of night time
Posing as evening,

And pull words like aces out of my
Worn poetic sleeves, but this is my
Winter coat, and all I can think of is
Snow creaking like doomed souls under

The heel of Anti-Summer Herself.

Meanwhile, Odin and Buddah swing
From a tree in my garden.
All battle muscle and fat carelessness,

And I look out at them chatting
Like little kids on a playground, about
Everything and nothing, and how that's
All there is.

Their words sing to my ears like the
Up-beat hummingbird pulse
Of a newborn's heart, to a young mother's
Own.

It has been years in the making - and yea!
Our hearts will have more breaking
And our lives - privy to even more shaking
but the prize will be ours for the taking!

On a ship tossed by sea and storm
With words from one another to keep us warm
Our course will not be easy ~ not the norm
But like steel in such fires our bond shall form.

So hoist up our flag ~ to each other betrothed
Look to the future; for our pasts shall bestow
All the lessons we need to see our love grow
~ guiding the way for a bonding of souls.

"Keep the faith!" shall be our battle cry
Before us those lacking ~ their hearts now do lie
For success is found in the try and try
and an unshakable belief in the You and I.
Faith in love of one another will help us to overcome trials and tribulations

She has felt the rough edges
of
anger marrying sadness
against her
front
teeth.
The way happy tasted on her tongue.
And she has yet to find a right constellation of syllables for love.
One of the greatest lessons I have learnt is to never suppress your feelings.
I did that for the past month, and it was like an inward explosion.
None of it very good.
So, cry it all out if you need to, honestly.
Now, chin up, buttercup!

P.S This piece is meant to be happy. Here's to all the wondrous, dizzying, insane feelings of the human condition.
Here's to the good, the bad & the in-between.
You're a good Man
& I love Ya, I do
Honest, trustworthy and true
Loving father, artistic,
a hard working man
for all these qualities
I love Ya, I do...
it's the nights I have
trouble getting through

Tonight as in last night
and the night before..
The nights of the months
that make so many nights
of our years together. ..
I have missed you dearly
Not for the lack of being present
Nor to support us in
house and home
Yet, the trade you've made to
Libations & Ale
that has left My body and
Heart so Very Alone

many nights of these many years
sing, magic sea horse!
          about marine depths
         about vivid day dreams

the song of the waves echoes at the bottom
shallow waters             pearl shells            rainbow ears

someone should tell the colorful depths:

                                 about my sighs
located                      on the edge of the horizon
                                   resting in the arms
                                    of a hundred salty flowers
                                           swaying and dancing as
                       golden midsummer breeze
              runs through scented branches

marine shrimps are running
               toward tanned ankles
            silver bracelets
               toward brown feet
                             bronze *******

young boys catching their first fish

sailing boats gliding

walking the battlements

I live in a town
Where one has to be tough
I've been up
But mostly, I've been down
I know you mean well
When you say you care
I hate to disappoint you
But your loving me is not enough

I know you saw me
Taken away in handcuffs
No, I was not falsely accused
It was me, I did those things
You think you can heal me
With your love
But I must be honest, my dear
Your love is not enough

I am not mean-spirited
I know I seem cruel and gruff
I have to appear so
To keep up the image
That makes men dread my visage
You saw through me
I find it beyond belief
But my sweet darling
Your love is not enough

I had a vivid imagination
I'd view my life in high-definition
Dream the photos of my future
In a colourful panorama
These days, I'm very lucky
To summon the will
To survive day after day
To be loved by you is an honour
Still, your love is not enough

I ignore the whispers of my heart
I laugh and I bluff
When it mentions you
You see, I have nothing to give
I've been broken, crushed
You deserve the world
I am mere shards
I would give you everything
But my love,
I, I am not enough.

Why do poets and photographers love fleeting things?
Angled shafts of sunlight piercing a mass
of clouds. A rainbow flashing from dragonfly wings.
Water drops beading like shards of glass.

The fluttering shape of a sycamore’s shade.
The sun sinking into its reflection
In a purple bay.  Smoke’s shadow. The rayed
Curve of a finger reaching for perfection.

Whatever churns, bursts, rocks, flies,
Foams, flickers, roils, evades
In pigments of impermanent dyes
We try to fix before it fades

Once I mourned the endless dying
Of here and now, the present always past
Elegized each moment, sighing
Beauty is loss and can never last.

But now I think I had it wrong.  In fact
(I learned this from an artist’s eye)
Fleeting beauty reappears faster than we react,
At the speed of a daydream flashing by.

All around, light coalesces into form,
Form explodes into light,
And we live lavishly inside this storm
If we can learn to see it right.

Beauty multiplies, tapering, swelling:
Reshaping, reforming, now familiar, now strange.
This gaudy blur in which we’re dwelling
Is the permanence of change.
This is still a work in progress.  Comments very welcome.

                                                If you are a tree,

Bombarded by extreme winds,

In the amidst of a typhoon,

I'll sacrifice to be your roots,
                                                                 To diminish your agony,

OH, I cannot manage seeing you suffer!

In carrying on in a big tragedy,
                                                               With utmost throe alone ,

Let me be torn and broken into fragments,
And be cut in combating and holding for you,

That's how much I love and care,

                                          I wish you only knew...

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I gave you my heart
(I love you - I said)

You put it in a freezer
"I may or may not need, it depends" - you said

♥♥♥♥♥♥

"okay"
(I love you - I said)

but things worked out with HIM

♥♥♥♥

You gave me my heart back
"Unlike Han Solo...
I don't think it survived
the freezing process - sorry"
- you said

♥♥♥

"okay"
(I love you - I said)

♥♥

My heart actually did survive
but it barely beats now

- full of ice damage -
necrosis
