The wildfires in your eyes
Burn bright enough
To illuminate a thousand skies

Leaving me
...

Up in smoke

Art
The value of art
Lies not in its beauty
But in its flaws
It's not about the perfection
But its mistakes
It's not about the art itself
Or the story it tells
The true value of art
Is how it makes you feel
Felt something after seeing some art that didn't really make much sense but really had deep emotions flowing in it... good, bad and scary all at once

And there we were drinking in the stars,

syllables, rhyme & reason, sweet nothings
burning down
our tongues and throats;
a wisp of an inferno.

The sun rise was our full-stop.
Hihi you!
Chin up. Come on, you've got this.
(Everything else in my book is all way too blue right now. Sometimes one has to write a little yellow sunshine.)

~

where clear blue sky meets water's deep
his sunbeams reach her waves to tease,
to warm her currents, foaming spray;
dawn to dusk when daylight fades,
till only afterglow remains,
an interlude of celestial stage.

he speaks to her on written sky
and in the mournful sea-bird's cry,
wraps sultry ribbons in her tresses,
his fingers linger in caresses,
and in soothing choreography
he gently stirs her ocean's breeze.

he sends her gifts of palm and dates,
wrapped on waves in salty sprays;
watches her with much delight,
he sings to her each eventide,
love songs with the calling gull,
and rocks her tween the gusts and lulls.

wedded at horizon’s edge,
devotion to her he has pledged,
to have forever and to hold,
his comfort to her storm-tossed soul;
his tender kiss on tear-stained cheek,
where clear blue sky meets water's deep.

post script.

when one gazes
into the vastness
of sea and sky,
of what is from
height to depth
an endless blue,
one cannot but think
of eternal devotion,
of the relationship
between two who have
pledged their forever troth!

as i wonder from what recesses
this one came, i remember…
our 36th wedding anniversary
is fast approaching...
i’ve been thinking of what to gift her
that will make her cry anew.

**thank you to Hello Poetry for
the tremendous honor bestowed
with their designation of this poem as the daily
and to all who have expressed their heartfelt
love and appreciation... your message
came through loud and clear...
there can be no denying it,
i am an incredibly blessed man
because of each of you!
thank you, truly,
from the bottom of my heart!

The Noose
I do not want to be the shadow
Trailing in your wake
Grasping at your impalpable luminescence
Or the tremulous hands tugging
At the hem of your trousers
I am moth. You are flame
The dying sun in my horizon
I can turn you into poetry
But I cannot make you love me.

poetessa diabolica
Violaceous twilights,
      clandestinely sated
lavished 'til morn's early blush
   midst honey suckled euphoria,
 poems hidden 'neath
         satin pillowcases,
written 'tween the dew
    of rendezvous'
       blissed arousal
forevermore eagerly breathless,
      reawakening intentions
  aloft the vast obscurity of
        a wistful sunset's surrender
i held onto something that never really mattered to you
Some line from the song of Darren Espanto "Stuck". I only added two words from the line. Go! check out his song its awesome. :)
Special mention to the original writer of the title. I just copy it somewhere. sorry. Just message me if you want me to edit it. :)

We flew into battle
like young Gods,
but fell from the sky
like shattered birds.
