On cloudless moonlit nights
When the world is silver and darkest blue
And silence seems to reign supreme
If you stretch your hearing inwards
You will hear the distant moans
Of long lost lonely dreams
Homeless and obsolete
Fading away
To become endless shadows

                                           By Phil Roberts
These petals are broken when dried
And thrown to the silent wind
They dance as the memory flickers
As candlelight shapes a moving rose
Delicate girl

Glances in the window night
Frame a sadness in tired eyes
Emotions skip and burst in direction
Touching from a distance
Delicate girl

It's just in front of you
But you can't grasp it and hold it to your chest
Falling through the crack in the pavement
I've been beaten down,
torn apart and ripped to shreds -
I have the war scars to prove it,

I've been knocked down,
broken to pieces and left out in the cold -
I've been trampled and defeated.

Somehow,
I've managed to stay alive -
It's nothing short of a miracle,

I've managed to turn my pain
into poetry--an art -
I've even managed to make it lyrical!

Poetry is my life!
Without it I would be completely lost
In a world I don't fit into.
It's a heart on world with my sleeve steadily exposed
A life line on a call line, dial 888 to be controlled
Puppets on a string to compose this household
The happier we'll be the more we're enclosed

Smaller spaces to lengthen the gap
       Encircling our inner self control
Consuming what's left of the demons
Trying to get a refund on our soul

Love changes colors like a rhyme
Smooth and easy
Eyes like the darkness of time
Slow and steady

Yet we're still not ready for the fight
Insanity walks through the door
And just when the time is right
Our beliefs slowly melt into the floor
scrambled words
ripped papers
blue ink
scratched lines
taped pictures
heart shaped drawings
darling i'll write for you
even if
the pages worn out
i'll scream my lungs out
even if
the sentences struggle
i'll reminisce the memories
even if
the polaroids becloud
darling i'll write
a thousand poetry for you
even if
it's dreadful
darling i'll do
till i'm weary
till there's nothing left
but this shattering pieces
of heart
that loves you
terribly
tremendously
unconditionally
here's for the unspoken
the untold feelings
here's the one
for you
one December’s night
how could you be so bright?
do all the stars collide?
are all the street lights on?
is the moon there?
is the sky so clear?

or is it just your eyes
that i get lost into
is it just your smile
that ease my anger
is it your scent
that lingers on my sweater

or is it just you?
