Is it cold out there?
In the rain?

Is it warm out there?
In that big coat of yours?

Is it sad out there?
With those heavy eyes you hold?

Is it tiring out there?
In the constant wind?

I'd invite you in but I fear that you'd melt away.

You're a little ****** in the back of my brain,
Growing until I can't feel my feet.

You're a world away from me right now,
But time told me we were close.

I long for your warmth,
But feel colder when you leave.

A constant worry drumming through my head,
Feeling blood surging through my veins.

I tiptoe the stairs and fall quickly to bed.

I want to consume comfort foods
and die by the fire.

I want to wrap up in your arms
and fall asleep.

I want to bring my duvet to the fort
and read my book until I can no longer breathe.

I want to wear my coat
until my sweat consumes me.

I want to feel the sun
for a whisper of a moment.

I want a hot soup
to burn my cold insides.

I want a winter filled with the warmth
of you.

I feel like skin.

I feel like rain.

I feel like a car on a hot day.

I feel like the moon.

I feel like you.

I feel like you.

I said I feel like you.

I really do.

I genuinely feel like you.

I don't even know what you feels like.

But I feel really like you.

I guess that's just me.

Warmth rises from the steam of our lips.
Cold coffee sits in the sink.
Leaves lay by the pavement.
Hands collide and hold.
Darkness envelops darkness.
Light surrounds light.

Lick the cream from your lips,
Plunge yourself into the orange,
Roll in the wind,
Embrace the flames,
Cry a little,
Learn a lot,
Wave goodbye to what you have left behind,
See what the winter holds.
