"Perfection,"
You said,
"Is simply unachievable."
I used to think that was true.
Although
You seem to have
Changed
My
Mind.

You tell me that I'm beautiful.
That I'm "simply amazing."
That I'm adorable.

You tell me about the universe.
About perfection.
About society.

You tell me all these things;
A hushed whisper in the darkness of my mind.
Compliments and poetry mumbled in a groggy, half-asleep voice.

I like listening to your voice.
I like hearing you rant passionately about life.
I like hearing my name on your lips.

I wonder why you even bother talking to me.
Why I'm even worth your time.
Why I'm different.

You say I'm
Simply
Amazing.

Yet you are
*Simply
Unattainable.
Sorry for ******* everything up.

You whispered my name in the dark silence.
I tried to explain to you
The complexity of the dark abyss
That is my emotion.
But somehow
My words remained silent
*And I could not have described it
Any better.
Aaaaand here's #4.
Reference to one of my favorite lines of poetry in here.

Absence
Makes
The heart
Grow
Fonder...

Really?
Since writing this poem I have come across the following quote by François VI de la Rochefoucault:
"Absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones, as the wind blows out the candle and fans the bonfire."

I need someone,
That makes me lose track of time,
Of  *everything.
It's hard to find.

I just want...
To look in the mirror
And not be disgusted

I just want...
To use my voice
Without telling a lie

I just want...
To wake up each morning
And not regret it

I just want...
To sleep at night
Without the nightmares

I just want...
To be able to think
And not want to cry

I just want...
To smile again
Without being fake

I just want...
To look at my wrist
And not see blood

I just want...
To live
For once in my life

*Is that too much to ask?

There are some
Who are fireworks
They light up the sky
Earn lots of "ooh"s and "ah"s

Then there are the flames
The ones who light the fireworks
Their job is important
They allow the fireworks to shine
Some notice them
But not many

And finally there are people like me
The matchsticks
Yes,
Just the wooden bit
We don't get noticed
We don't shine like the others
All we do
Is burn away
So others aren't burnt

We are useful
But not necessary
We don't dazzle
And we are easy to come by

In this world
Of fireworks
I just wanted a fireworks poem for 4th of July

Can you still say you're lonely
When you're the one keeping others out?
I keep pushing people away....

Hey, I actually slept last night
It was nice
The only problem is this:

**I woke up again this morning
