It takes darkness to find yourself

love me
she was like a star
a burning ball of energy
shining through the darkness

a special kind of star
the kind you make wishes upon

she was my star and
i was her wish

her smile lit up the sky
belittling the darkness

but eventually
the smiles faded
the giggles seised

and the star burned out
This body
That you see
Is not me

It is merely the veil
Which I put on in the morning

Look into my eyes.
Do you see
My soul?
a woman's hijab is her body, which accidently masks the true beauty of her inner spirit by trying to contain her
Someone else's illness
won't make your cold any better

Someone else's tsunami
won't stop your wave from pulling you under

Someone else's hurricane
won't stop your thunderstorm

Someone else's novel
won't make your sentence meaningless

Someone else's depression
won't make your sadness go away

Someone else's excitement
won't diminish your happiness

Someone else's better
won't take away your best

Someone else
won't be you

Listening to the silence of the rain
Sitting in the candle lit flames

Scents of lavender and vanilla
Fill the air , I breath.
Listening to my thoughts
Re-writing some old memories

The wind is violent today
Tossing into the windows,
Is the rain.
So hard, the drops hit my glass
Running down to the ground
To be safe at last.

The puddles are deepening
Sewers overfilled
Streets overcome,
With water they fill.

There's  no electricity now
The rain has silenced,
this blackened town.

Listening to the silence of the rain
Sitting in the candle lit flames
Now all my neighbors, will do the same.
Read a book, or read your mind
Be guided by flame,
In the day times,  night.
If a disappointment is defined as the act of failing to fulfill the expectations or wishes,
then I'm sorry, my dear,
for you are its antonym,
*while I, its synonym
