of raven black hair.
she has that back-straight dancer's

walk that says

she has that figure that makes men
nudge each other when walking

behind her, then stop when she
turns. just stop. and look.

she has that feeling of a woman who
knows she's the safest girl in

the world. *my man can stop the
planet's turning. can keep the sun

from rising. for
me.

I stand sadly by my window
Watching as winter once again
Claims all that surrounds me

I once loved this season
Of icy snow, wool socks,
And fires to keep me warm

But now I dread stepping outside
For I know I will never again
See your footprints next to mine

We met with smiles,
And we will end in tears...

They always compare love to a burning fire
And say, " you ignited my heart into flames"
But you were the frozen furnace
The ancient stove that no one ever bothered to heat up
You were cold down to the core and I had electrical heat running through my veins
And everytime I touched you you gave me frostbite
I tried so hard but you were too numb
And sooner or later,
I ran out of match sticks to keep this pathetic excuse of a fire alive
Because I was the forest fire and your were the water that drowned me
