Glassy eyed and
Lost in utilitarian cities
With a low-yielding love
And a useless imagination
With the bad art
And the public transport seat pattern blues

--but i have realized
that i live for the ash in your eyes,
the shadows i kiss from your collarbones
the unspoken flames that dance
                                     across your skin

igniting, consuming.
between the swirling dust
and your smoky eyelashes,
i breathe you,
choke on the embers and
love every moment of it.

I stutter
Because I am screaming inside
I'm breathless
Cause there's nowhere to hide
I don't act upon voices
Countless times they lied
I can't function properly
I promise I tried.

Sleepless nights, restless days
I can't ever seem to get away from it
Pushing me, whispering, always there reminding me
Of the failure, the disappointment I've become
Silence, booming in my ears
The loudest thing I've ever heard, yet completely calm
The opposite of how I really feel
Falling, endlessly, forever
this was meant to be a spoken word poem, but writing it out will have to do...
Trembling hands,
palpitating heart
my vision starts to fall apart
my leg wont stop shaking
No, im not faking,
I'm just nervous.
little dark girl with
kind eyes
when it comes time to
use the knife
I won't flinch and
i won't blame
you,
as I drive along the shore alone
as the palms wave,
the ugly heavy palms,
as the living does not arrive
as the dead do not leave,
i won't blame you,
instead
i will remember the kisses
our lips raw with love
and how you gave me
everything you had
and how I
offered you what was left of
me,
and I will remember your small room
the feel of you
the light in the window
your records
your books
our morning coffee
our noons our nights
our bodies spilled together
sleeping
the tiny flowing currents
immediate and forever
your leg my leg
your arm my arm
your smile and the warmth
of you
who made me laugh
again.
little dark girl with kind eyes
you have no
knife. the knife is
mine and i won't use it
yet.
