~
Gliding along
The edge of night
Voiceless
In their sorrow
Silent in the wake
Of remissive waters

Their call
Their beckoning
A flare
To the soundless heavens
Quiet in the assured
Expectation of faith

Inspired by Sarita Aditya Verma and her poem "The Journey."

You've Been Timetabled
I’m right here
In the same room
Do you really see me?
I have some problems
So you may need to touch
And speak to me more
To evoke a response
You may need to dig a little
Deeper to hear my words
Or listen carefully to hear me cry
I need your attention
Because what you think of me
Really matters

The horizon is less
a mystery now
and split down the middle
I won't take sides
to a war wrapped
tightly around
this pretty little future
but for some
inexplicable reason
I can't take
my eyes off of it

I heard the chimes
of iniquitous wind
rush in upon
familial branches bent
in the middle
it sent the smallest stems
adrift
to spiral
as lost sons and daughters
captured in darkness
and forced to bow before
the lightning strikes
of tyranny
For the Mothers of the Disappeared

She wakes me up deep in the night.

I understand you, she smiles
snuggling into me, her nose,
pressed cotton soft on my cheek

I have no strength, I cry
not one, for you

I love your weakness
love you for your weakness
her breath wafts into mine

and the boy stuck in his age
floats in the web
of the girl forever
forgiving.
