A Collaboration between Ovi Odiete and Evna-Luna

Bring me rain, rain, boom

Bring me rain, rain, rain,
Let it boom or blossom due
Sunsets kissing the earth
Sky filled with crimson's view
Flow river flow,
Run, earth run
Bring me days unending waves
Days unending tales
Bring me rain, rain, rain,
Let it boom, flow, grow

Sun kissed earth adore the air
Mild blown tears falling freely
Give me paradise, blue or white
Give me years true or through
Bring me rain, fall, fall
Days of glowing health
Trees on river's fronts
Bring me through a broken seal
Give me love that sweeps me in
Bring me rain, rain, boom

Give me night, nights, boom
Watch me moon, stars, sky
Give me paradise blue, white, blue
Bring me rain, fall, boom
Give me days unending bliss
Give me years unending peace
Bring me glow, glows, boom
Give me earth and paradise blue
Watch me sleep, dream, boom
Bring me paradise blue or white

A piece of poetry conjured as a collaborative poem
What then is the poem?

The poem is a sword too sharp and piercing
Too vast and Strong
The poem bridges the gap between known and unknown forces
Between seen and unseen faces
The poem is a sword too sharp that cuts
Cutting through hearts and minds
The poem bridges the distance reached and unreached

The poem has its wings and aim to fly on its own
Don't force it to fly,
Let it fly and soar when its time comes

What then is the poem?
Angel Come
Angel Come; Come with a Whisper,
With tongues of Mysta
Come in the Night,
And bring us the Light
Come unto Mystery,
To elude our Misery
Angel Come- Angel Go

Angel Come
Come Like a River
To Inhale this Fever
Overshadow me with Shivers,
To see me thus Thither
Like a river Glorious,
In a secret Joyous
Angel Come; Angel Go

Angel Come
Remould my emotions,
To fit my Devotions
Come into the Dark;
And get rid of the Black
Encamp me in your Palms,
To wrap me in your Arms
Angel Come- Angel Go

Angel Come
Come into my Subconscious;
Awaken my Unconscious
Come like an arrowing Rain,
Invade my narrowest Pain
Let me hide my face in You;
For I seek a space in You
Angel Come: Angel Go

From my imaginative diary....
Originally written 2014
When sleep deserted me
I crawled out of my bed unseen
To delve into the crevices of the dark
With the curiosity of an explorer
And the near comatose of a somnambulist
I walked up and down the steep slopes of the night
Like a night watchman
Without a lantern in his hand

When my legs grew weary
I sat on a rock
Covered with moss and lichen
Staring at the dark night sky
With no constellation of fireflies
Flashing their torches anywhere

Sitting there, I listened to the song of night birds,
The rustle of leaves,
The howl of wolves,
And the night wind’s rave

Looking into the dark pockets of the night,
I thought of human mind, a deep gorge
With many an uninhabitable corner
Where serpent desires lie coiled
Scorpions crawl with toxic pincers
Predators roam to prey upon helpless victims

The mystery of the night absorbed me
Her muffled sounds, her dark beauty
Her elusive charm, like thick night fog,
Percolated deep into my consciousness
And I floundered in a fathomless sea,
Swirling in her eddies and currents.
It whisked me away to lands far…far!
      But on being washed ashore,
I was in a creative delirium

I am now in No Man’s Land
Where everything is in a coma of stillness
      Where no light glimmers
No door ajar
And no one in sight!
Here the poet in me breaks open
The somnambulist's comatose
And down way flow my thoughts in indelible ink
Which only I can read

Like a night bird
Roosting among the branches of a tree
I sing of my heart aches,
Of my yearnings and longings

In the barely audible whispers of the night,
My song reverberates in the eyeless abyss down,
And the dark desolate valleys below

People say, ghosts walk the earth at night.
Oh!  I am not scared!
I am not eager for the dawn to break,
Nor want to put my pen down!
if only we would love
with our eyes
closed
and our hearts
open

we would not see
the outer shell

we would simply
fall in love with
the soul
the spirit
the heart
before us

for the rest
eventually falls away

Imagine -

this blackness as if it is something
tangible

that you can hide in your
hand

an apple core you can throw
away

when the flesh has been eaten
away

I fall into a medicated sleep
each night

close my eyes to the world
yet still

it moves around me,
pulses

like the streets of a big city
drowned in neon light

I want to touch this hook that has
gutted me

until only my body remains
the outer shell

of something living, the movement
of a clenched fist

plunged into a ribcage that
shatters and pierces the heart

they call it a dog and I know it
is animal

in nature, ruthless,
with an insatiable hunger

I am the root of the dying
flower

resistant but buried under-
ground

I can only see the sun in the
moon

the sea in a handful of salt
rubbed deep into the

wound
Teach me how to talk with God,

I am ready. Kneeling. Knees shaking on a frozen floor

the imprint of mosaic tiles
shining white

like light

I know how to beg, I say
I have pleaded with

a boy

to stop as he became a man
before my eyes

(between my thighs)

I can howl. I can pray,
the moon simply bait for

my soul.

Teach me how to love through
hymns

a simple progression of chords
that stir

the snake around my heart

I have eaten the apple more than once, more than

anyone

still, I can learn

I can learn

teach me how to talk with God

(I'll learn)
The moon shines down,
watching our steps
it gives us light,
in nights deep times
Waking us out
to join the stars
and shine forth still
The moon shines down
and give us calm

Ovi Odiete
The Moon is a symbol of bliss~
As it shines, it gives us calm
