I remember that time we went to a public lake.
I was afraid to wear a swimsuit in front of others,
Even chubby children,
And their wrinkling stretch-marked mothers.

I hated my body,
But you held me by the hand,
And told me I was the most beautiful creature,
In the lake or on the land.

I loved you back then,
As we sat in the shade.
And that was probably the biggest mistake that I have ever made.

Not because I let you tell me I was beautiful,
But because I thought your love ran deep,
Though it turned out to be fake,
And perhaps even more shallow
Than that puddle of a lake.

I'd give you a three leaf clover
Yes, that's three not four
Each leaf has meaning
The first is faith
The second is hope
The third is love
And the fourth is luck

But if I have you
I don't need luck
I only need three
I only need love

I'd give you a three leaf clover
Yes that's three
Not four
If I ever meet someone to love

you know the value of a word
and can place it with great care
you see colors in a rainbow
others wouldn’t know were there
you can find the silver lining
of the darkest thunder cloud
or make a grown man weep
when he reads your words out loud
you live your life wide open
wear your heart upon your sleeve
give your friends the gift of laughter
and console them when they grieve
you take all the pieces of a life
and use words to make the whole
if you're reading this right now
it means you have a poets soul
There are so many wonderful people and poets on this site, this is my thank you for being awesome poem.

I try to show you
That I care
I try to show you
That I want you
I try to show you
That I love you

But you still don't
Acknowledge
My existence
And you still think
That I just want to be your friend
But you are so wrong

What more do you want me to do?
What more can I do?
Please, please tell me...

If one star went missing,
Would anyone notice?
After all,
There are billions of stars
What's just one?

If I went missing,
Would anyone notice?
After all,
There are billions of humans
What's just one?
Feeling very insignificant....

You've broken my heart into fragments,

And those pieces,

Became the stars that light my pitch-black moments,

It became an ornament of my life,

Little gems that gleams my night,

Their abundance embellish the darkness,

It makes my life marvelous and worth living for!

'Cause stars are an exceptional beauty in the  dark sky,

Like my brokenness has it's rare beauty,

Everyone sees it, but few appreciates.

      'Cause only infrequent times,

                                      With individuals having chuffed personality,

              That people makes blissful atmosphere,

Out of wicked situations.

Dying

Maria
My friend is dying,
I can hear it in her voice-
and the way her smiles don't wrinkle near her eyes anymore;
She knows it, too.
My friend is dying,
falling off the course.

If I had the words, I'd write her a song;
If I had the voice, I'd sing it all day long
to her,
but I don't.
No one ever taught me what to do in event of a teetering life,
on the brink of illness but not quite.
