The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.

lost cause
if i wrote my future
all would be changed
from the way i was raised
to the thoughts in my brain
if i wrote my future
no love would be lost
so i’d stand right beside you
no matter the cost
if i wrote my future
i’d bring nothing but peace
and save you from sorrow
and the darkness that creeps
if i wrote my future
you’d still be here
but you wrote my future
and i did nothing
but stare

Yesterday I cried to the moon
as she wiped my tears away
made my worries disappear
so I could sleep again.

Today I smile at the sun
and it shines back on me,
what a wonderful world
to be alive;
to be me.

I spend too many nights thinking
Wondering, writing, dreaming
Of someone who doesn't even think of me

i search
the emptiness
hoping to find your soul
but my grip is loose
and i think its too late
to tell you not to go

the girl with the ocean eyes
says the hardest goodbyes
a sea of poems, a field of sighs
what can we do, to make things right?
this is one of my favorites :)

What dream?

Chasing a dream
That doesn't exist
Living in a world with too many risks
Risking it all
Just to be happy
To smile,
Say that I'm worthy
But really
I'm never really smiling
The world is always mad
Its painful to be happy
And easy to be sad
So what dream am I chasing?
Most days aren't worth a smile
I don't know where I'm going
No signs in sight
I'll keep trying to find the way
No time for doubt
Nor fear
Just justice
With less doubts
