I'm alone with so much on my mind
And I swear it's eating me alive
Like those demons in my head are hungry
And my brains are on the buffet
****, man.

Tho raw misfortune faded
And I may be alone
It doesn't mean I changed my mind
Or wandered far from home
Thoughts still barb like hooks
Kisses lost their taste
Promises changed meaning
As we fell from grace
Instead I ache for passion
An all consuming fire
Honest, complicated
Thunder soaked desire
Consume my cause & motive
***** the brutal past
Love my dying embers
I wasn't meant to last

Scripted romance
On tv screens
Fictional love
Inked on paper
Raising expectations
For helpless romantics
We live off these things. They aren't realistic and it's not fair to us or anyone else drilling these expectations in our heads

Try to remember
That night skies still shimmer with stars
Just a little something to encourage myself with.
Cheesy, but oh well.

Gray skies fill my window.
My heavy eyes open.
Those were the days
When you would hold me
-Wash away
All my doubts.

Ghetto Girl
The soil is sodden and sated with the blood of your youth
Our children are scarred, robbed of life, love and innocence.
Our women are beaten into submission, into silence... hopelessness.

The aged and the vulnerable have to live behind a metal veil.
Gratuitous violence walks beside us
The school, once the womb of the community, where the child was nurtured, suckling at the breast of knowledge
Sadly the womb is disrespected!

The school is violated and learning is disrupted.

There is a constant atmosphere of ****!
Yes, sadly ****! is stalking me and every woman and child.

Crime inhibits our freedom.... it rains down on our democracy.
Oppression is alive and well and it has a new face.
