Love, let me be the
ink of your quill, the very
blood of all your poems.

The truest
Zyrah Samar Oct 2014
Writers are brave
for every time they write,
they rip their chests open,
and let the world know
what is inside their hearts.

heavy barrels
Zyrah Samar Jun 2014
i threw my tears to sea,
letting it get drowned
by the waves
created by millions
of liters of tears
of all the people
who just chose
to let go
of the heavy barrels
that weighs them down

until we meet again
Zyrah Samar May 2014
i am the waves
and you are the shore.

darling, no matter
how difficult and
painful i had
to experience
just to reach you,
i would endure.

and every single time,
i’ll be bringing you
stories from every corner
of the world
that i have gone to.

Compass
Zyrah Samar May 2014
We’ll all feel lost but
passion will be the compass
that’ll lead us back home.

inertia
Zyrah Samar May 2014
Have you tried peering
into my bare soul to
discover what makes
me open my eyes
in the morning (even
my lower and upper
eyelashes seem to
interlock themselves)
for the world keeps
on laying the cards
on the table that shows
me all the reasons
to just give up on life?

You’ll see yourself.
You are my hope—
the magical force
that keeps me
moving forward.

never ready enough
Zyrah Samar May 2014
tragedies, losses,
failures and defeats
will always be
present in life

sometimes,
i try to ready
my soul and my heart
for mishaps

but i guess i was
never ready enough
for whenever it comes,
it still leaves me
devastated, hopeless

ghost story
Zyrah Samar May 2014
then the air whispered
to my ears
the untold stories,
& unsung melodies,
of the lonely souls
who claimed their own lives
because of grave melancholia

a chill climbed onto my spine
and hoped that someday,
they'll find their paradise.

skinny love
Zyrah Samar May 2014
i adore her,
every part of her being—
both the parts she is proud of
and those that she keeps hidden
her wit and sweetness
seems like a cherry on top of an ice cream
that makes her even more
beautiful to my eyes.

i’ve liked him since that
19th of February
during our rehearsal for a cotillion
"Your hands feel cold. Don’t be nervous", he said.
i smiled and felt the warmth on my cheeks
he’s always been my inspiration
and my strong tower.

i wish i could finally
tell her how much i love her.

i don’t think i’ll ever have
the courage to tell him i love him.

his garden
Zyrah Samar May 2014
there are daisies
and tulips and roses
growing between
the spaces of her ribs
brought to life
by his tender touch.
